Training: doesn’t just test you — it breaks you down, rebuilds you, and sharpens you into something stronger every single time. It never gets easier… you just become stronger to break.

The moment you start worrying about how you’ll perform, you’ve already stepped behind. Confidence is earned here — through sweat, repetition, and pushing past limits you didn’t think you had.

Training isn’t an expense. It’s an investment — in your skill, your mindset, your crew, and the lives that depend on you when it matters most.

Proud of Station 17 today. No excuses — just showed up and showed out. That’s the standard.

We train to be better — not just for ourselves, but for our community. Because when the call comes in, there’s no room for doubt.

Respect to our officers for leading from the front and setting the tone. And a BIG thank you to East Lincolnton FD for hosting — we appreciate the opportunity to get better together.

Stay ready. Stay sharp. Great work, brothers.

Please join us in wishing LVFD Fire Chief, R. Cunningham a Happy Birthday! Thank you for all you do Chief. Enjoy a poem wrote by our firefighter and Chief Cunningham’s son.

My dad’s the Fire Chief, king of the hall,

Helmet slightly crooked, but still stands tall.

He drinks his coffee like it’s part of the job,

Strong enough to wake the dead—or at least the squad.

When the tones drop loud at three A.M.,

He’s dressed and moving before you count to ten.

Socks don’t match, hair’s a mess,

But somehow he still passes every test.

He knows every truck, each hose and tool,

And somehow keeps firefighters (mostly) cool.

He runs the station with grit and grace,

And just enough dad jokes to scare the place.

He fights fires, fixes problems, leads from the front,

And tells the rookies, “Yeah… I’ve seen worse—trust me, kid.”

From kitchen-table wisdom to command-scene flair,

He’s calm in the chaos, steady and fair.

So here’s to the Chief who leads, not boasts,

Who protects his crew and laughs the most.

Best dad, best leader—this much is true:

The fire department runs better because of you 🔥🚒

Happy birthday

Today we’re recognizing something truly rare.

Completing Florida Smoke Divers isn’t just a milestone—it’s a statement. It’s proof of relentless grit, discipline, and the kind of mental toughness that only a few are willing to test. This program pushes firefighters beyond exhaustion, beyond comfort, and straight into the question of “how bad do you want it?” And you answered that question every single day.

Today, our very own Capt. J.Hendrix completed just that. Sir, you endured the heat, the pressure, the doubt, and the pain—when quitting would’ve been the easy choice. You stayed calm in chaos, focused under stress, and strong when your body and mind were screaming to stop. That’s what separates good firefighters from the truly elite.

This accomplishment doesn’t just belong to you—it raises the standard for all of us. Our department, our community, and everyone who serves alongside you is safer and stronger because of the commitment you’ve shown.

You didn’t just finish Florida Smoke Divers.
You earned it.
You proved it.
And you wear it with honor.

Congratulations on an achievement that few will ever understand—and even fewer will ever accomplish. We are extremely lucky and fortunate to have you, not only here at Lowell FD, but also at Charlotte Fire. We’re so proud of you, and we’re lucky to serve beside you. Congratulations to the others that have earned the patch. 👏🏽 🚒🔥

Today, Lowell FD met at Gaston Christian to talk fire prevention with K-4 and K-5 classes. We really enjoyed spending time with students, as well as remembering when the local fire department came to our schools and showed us the fire trucks. 🚒
