At approximately 18:03, Benton County 911/CenCom dispatched HCFD to a vegetation fire on Akita Ln. While en route, Hwy 94 East Fire Department and Lowell Fire Department were added to the assignment due to a large smoke plume

First-arriving brush truck located approximately 3–4 acre vegetation fire with dense brush and 20ft flame lengths. Command upgraded the assignment and requested Arkansas Forestry Divisions dozer, Beaver Lake Fire Department, Piney Point Fire Department, Rocky Branch Fire & Rescue, and Benton County EMA-1 (Drone).

Through the aggressive brush truck attack and tender support for water supply, the fire was contained to approximately 3–4 acres. The Arkansas Forestry Division dozer was instrumental in establishing fire lines around the affected area, helping prevent further spread and maintain containment. EMA-1 was also able to assist us with the drone, giving us an eye in the sky.

Great work by all agencies involved in getting a rapidly moving fire under control and protecting surrounding properties.

Last night, we celebrated the students of the 2026 Benton County Fire Academy through a graduation ceremony. 16 Firefighters from various departments across NWA successfully completed all requirements to obtain their IFSAC Firefighter 1 and 2 certifications. We would like to congratulate firefighters Moritz Tinz, Noah Skaggs, James Barrick, and Christian Carbajal.
