🔥 Welcoming Lowell’s Newest Recruits 🔥

Today marks the final day of pre‑academy for four of Lowell’s newest recruits.
Three will move on to the NWA Metro Chiefs Academy, while one begins their journey on shift right here at home.

We’re proud to welcome these motivated individuals to our beautiful city and to the Lowell Fire Department family. Their commitment, drive, and heart for service are already shining through — and we’re excited to see them grow into the firefighters our community can count on.

Hickory Creek Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire yesterday afternoon. A HCFD unit spotted a heavy smoke column and upgraded the assignment, bringing multiple agencies to assist.

Crews arrived to 3 acres of tall grass and dense brush burning with 20‑ft flame lengths. An aggressive brush‑truck attack and Water Tender support stopped the fire quickly.

Thanks to teamwork across responding agencies, the fire was contained with zero structural damage.

Lowell: Battalion 4104, Engine 4111
Hickory Creek: Engine 8111, Rescue 8153
Springdale: Battalion 1, Engine 8, Engine 10
Pafford EMS

Lowell Fire Department Battalion 4104 and Engine 4111 responded to assist Hickory Creek Fire Department with a reported structure fire, multiple callers reporting black smoke showing from the shop building.

Lowell units were first to arrive on scene, to find heavy black smoke showing from the structure.

Battalion 4104 established Incident Command.
Engine 4111 made entry into the building to find a dump truck on fire with 3 additional concrete pump trucks being stored inside the building. Engine 4111 crew made a quick knock down on the fire, saving the building and additional trucks being stored inside.

The crew did a fantastic job on this 96 degree afternoon, saving hundreds of thousands in property. Great job guys!!!

Crews had a great Friday afternoon out in the community today. Our crew spent some time at Lowell Elementary’s Field Day, and brought along a big sprinkler to help the kids cool off in the heat. It’s always a good day when we get to hear that kind of laughter and see the smiles that come with it.

Meanwhile, another crew was at Kathleen Johnson Memorial Park, where they had the chance to visit with students from Founders Classical Academy. Crews enjoyed getting to talk with them, answer their questions, and share a little insight into what we do and why we do it.

We’re grateful for every opportunity to connect with the young people in our community. Thanks to all the students and staff who welcomed us today—you made our Friday a whole lot brighter.
