🚨🚨 On September 2, 2026, while patrolling the area of N. Bloomington, a Lowell Officer located a Dewalt tool box in the roadway. The tool box was picked up and transported to the Lowell Police Department to be held for safe keeping.

If this toolbox belongs to you, please contact the Lowell Police Department at (479)659-8888. We will need the owner to disclose the contents inside the toolbox in order for it to be released.

🚓🚨From August 21 through September 7th the Lowell Police Department will join other police departments across the nation in the National Labor Day DWI mobilization.

Law enforcement will be expanding their efforts with zero tolerance for impaired driving. The goal is to save lives.

Even a small amount of alcohol can affect driving ability.

* During the 2024 Labor Day holiday (September 1 -September 5), there were 505 crash fatalities nationwide. Of those people, 170 (34%) were killed in crashes that involved at least one alcohol-impaired driver with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 or above.

* Over the 2023 Labor Day holiday, 505 drivers were killed in traffic crashes.

* 100 (33%) drivers were alcohol-impaired with a BAC .08 or above.

* Seventy-seven (77%) of the 100 impaired drivers killed were almost twice the legal limit (BAC .15+).

* Among drivers between the ages of 18 and 34 who were killed in crashes over the Labor Day holiday in 2024, 40% of those drivers were drunk, with BACs of .08 or above.

Make a plan before the celebration starts. That sober ride home will cost you a lot less than a DWI.

Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.

Lowell Police Department Fugitive Arrested in Florida

LOWELL, Ark. — In the early morning hours of August 7, 2026, members of the United States Marshals Service arrested Gene PARKER in southern Florida in connection with an outstanding felony warrant issued by the Lowell Police Department.

PARKER has been wanted by the Lowell Police Department since 2025 on a Class Y felony warrant. Following an extensive investigation, detectives with the Lowell Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division worked closely with the United States Marshals Service to develop information regarding PARKER’s whereabouts.

Through the coordinated efforts of both agencies, investigators were able to locate PARKER in Florida, where he was taken into custody without incident.

The Lowell Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to the United States Marshals Service for its professionalism, dedication, and continued partnership. The successful apprehension of PARKER is the result of the strong cooperation and investigative efforts of both agencies.

The Lowell Police Department remains committed to working with our local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to locate wanted individuals and ensure accountability within our community.

As with all criminal cases, the charge against PARKER is an allegation. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

A MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF OF POLICE

Lowell Citizens,

It has come to my attention that several city council members have called a special meeting to amend the City Council rules.

It is my understanding that this is a hasty attempt to move forward with selling the new Lowell Police Department and City Hall buildings. Declaring these city-owned buildings as surplus through council action would be unprecedented in Lowell. City staff and an independent review board have determined these facilities are what our community needs both now and as Lowell continues to grow.

There have been rumors that these new buildings will “bankrupt the city.” Based on the information available to me, those claims are simply not true.

I encourage everyone to attend this meeting, stay informed, and make your voice heard as decisions are made that will impact the future of our community.

If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am committed to listening, providing information, and serving the citizens of Lowell.

Me he enterado de que varios miembros del Concejo Municipal han convocado una reunión especial para modificar las reglas del Concejo Municipal.

Tengo entendido que esto representa un intento apresurado de avanzar con la venta de los nuevos edificios del Departamento de Policía de Lowell y del Ayuntamiento. Declarar estos edificios, que son propiedad de la ciudad, como excedentes mediante una acción del Concejo sería algo sin precedentes en Lowell. El personal de la ciudad y una junta de revisión independiente han determinado que estas instalaciones son lo que nuestra comunidad necesita, tanto ahora como a medida que Lowell continúa creciendo.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to our Mayor and City Council for their continued investment in the Lowell Police Department. Their support has helped make our agency more competitive with surrounding departments, allowing us to recruit and retain outstanding employees who are committed to serving our community.

We’re also proud to announce that four officers have graduated from the Northwest Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy’s 2026A and 2026B Basic Classes, successfully completed their Field Training Program, and are now proudly serving the citizens of Lowell.

In just a few weeks, the Lowell Police Department will be fully staffed with 26 full-time sworn officers and 6 full-time civilian employees. This milestone reflects our community’s commitment to public safety and ensures we are better equipped to meet the needs of our growing city.

To the citizens of Lowell—thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and trust. Your partnership is essential to our mission, and we are honored to serve this incredible community every day.

The Lowell Police Department is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Officer Marsh of the Rogers Police Department.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Marsh’s family, friends, loved ones, and the entire Rogers Police Department during this incredibly difficult time. We stand beside our brothers and sisters in blue as they mourn the loss of one of their own.

Please join us in keeping everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss in your thoughts and prayers.
