I am proud to announce that I have been endorsed by NWI Indivisible!

This endorsement means a lot to me because NWI Indivisible works incredibly hard to inform voters, register new voters, and get people involved in our communities and our democracy.

Their work is powered by so many dedicated volunteers who believe that every voice deserves to be heard.

I want to take a moment to recognize the many businesses in downtown Lowell that have put artwork supporting our local schools in their windows.

That is Red Devil pride.

As many of you know, this issue is very personal to me. I graduated from Lowell, and most importantly, my son will one day attend Tri-Creek schools.

Tri-Creek is facing the elimination of bus services and all extracurricular activities for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. This is not the fault of our students, teachers, school corporation, or community.

The reality is that schools are being asked to do more with less. The state continues to shift education funding toward private school vouchers while also making it harder for public schools to predict what resources they will have from one year to the next.

I know no one wants to pay more taxes. I understand that. But we also have to be honest about what happens when we the state refuses to adequately invest in our public schools.

If we cannot lead in education, we will fall behind other communities and other states. Indiana should be a leader in public education. To do that, we have to invest in the schools that serve the vast majority of Hoosier students.

Thank you to the businesses in Lowell that are showing their support. And thank you to everyone in our community who continues to stand up for Tri-Creek, our students, our teachers, and public education.

Sadly, we are canceling door knocking in Hebron today due to the weather.

We have rescheduled both yesterday’s and today’s door-knocking efforts for next week instead of our two literature drops.

Hello everyone! Labor Day is this Monday, and we are excited to be walking in the Labor Day Parade!

We are looking for more volunteers to join us. If you would like to walk with us, or know someone who would, please come out and be part of the team.

• Meeting location: Lowell High School
• Meet at: 9:00 AM
• Parade spot: #40

We will meet in the area marked on the map. Water, snacks, and campaign shirts will be provided to everyone who participates.

Our new yard signs are in! In just a few days, we can start putting them in yards across House District 11.

To my local Democratic groups, fellow Democrats, supporters, friends, and neighbors, this is where we need your help.

If you live in Cedar Lake, Lowell, Hebron, DeMotte, Wheatfield, Schneider, Shelby, Morocco, Brook, or Lake Village, we want a Tyler Bridges yard sign in your yard.

Another Representative Review Monday.

Here’s the simple fact: my opponent is nowhere to be found in our community, unless you count the occasional lousy mailer showing up in your mailbox.

Meanwhile, I’m out here meeting with constituents, attending events, listening to your concerns, and doing the work.

This election comes down to a simple choice: Do you want a representative who sends you mail, or one who actually talks to you?

Had a wonderful time at the Lake County Indiana Young Democrats event!

Young people are the future of this country, and getting them engaged in our democracy and out to vote is incredibly important.

But even more important than talking about young people is actually listening to them.

Political apathy among young people is real, and it’s something we have to actively work to change. The question is: how do we do it?

My goal is simple: listen to the young people in our communities, take their concerns seriously, and MAKE SURE THEY HAVE A SEAT AT THE TABLE.

Because young people are Hoosiers, too. And my promise will always be the same: Hoosiers first, always.

Last night, I had a great time hanging out with the Jasper County Indiana Democrats at their “Give ’Em Hell” Trivia Night!

Our candidate table may not have taken home the win, but at the end of the day, the best part was getting to talk with constituents and people from across Jasper County.

I also had some incredibly insightful conversations about public education in Indiana.

The lack of funding many of our public schools are facing isn’t the fault of our teachers, school corporations, or students. It is the result of decisions being made by the legislature downstate.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll keep saying it: if Indiana isn’t leading in education, we are falling behind in every other aspect of our state.

It’s time to invest in our students, support our teachers, strengthen our public schools, and put Hoosiers First. Always.
