Lee Gulf Trail is Closed. If you are going around the gates to use it, you are jeopardizing our use of it in the future. This is on Private land, and the landowner you are using to get around the gate is upset and considering closing our access. If you are going around gates on closed trail, it impacts us all. Please ride responsibly. We are trying to grow our trail system, not lose more of it! All actions have consequences.

Tug Hill Adirondack ATV Association

Several members of the Tug Hill Adirondack ATV Association spent some time this morning riding Lewis County Trails to determine how much damage had been done over the winter and what will take to get the trails open.

Now what we did come across are the disinfected towels being left on the ground. Our members will not be responsible to pick up your towels that folks just decided to leave behind. Please if you carry it in please carry it out.

COVID-19 ADVICE
If you arrive at a parking lot and there are several cars, you should consider going to another parking lot.
Do not share a UTV or ATV with people not in your household.
When riding you should always be able to maintain at least six feet of distance between one another.
As of April 17, New Yorkers are required to wear masks in public when appropriate social distancing cannot be maintained, so if you are stopped and do not have your helmet on wear your mask.

TRAIL CLOSURE - I am saddened to report that we have lost a vital trail in our system. The trail between the Railroad bed, behind RVI to the Burdicks Crossing Road is CLOSED. One of our landowners has had enough of the arrogance (his words) of the riders who will not respect the trail closed signs. So we no longer have a legal connection to Brantingham. Unfortunately the actions of a few that feel the laws do not apply to them have impacted us all. Respect our landowners, your actions have consequences.

We are working on other options but that will take at least until June 3rd to be approved. I will try to keep you updated.

There have been many questions regarding Trail permits and Trail openings. With the status of the Corona virus, we are limited for staff, and access. The permits are only available online at this point, but staff is not available to process them. So we ask you to hold off or be patient. We also can not ask our businesses to sell them when they are on mandatory shut down or limited access.

With the trails we are in the same situation. There is still snow and ice on the trails but the trail staff is on hold until the mandates are lifted. I will try to keep everyone updated here on Facebook.

Sorry for the confusion but we are trying to cope with the situation and do the best that we can. Thank you!

Oswego County ATV Club will not be part of our trail agreement for next year so there will not be a mutual discount for 2020. Steve Cronk the President of that Club said they need to work on some issues so they decided not to participate next year. Thank you for this year, we wish you the best and we will continue to try to grow our access regionally.
