11/7; 11:30 a.m.โA statement released from MVCC said, "Earlier today, Mohawk Valley Community College implemented a Shelter-in-Place notification at its Utica Campus as a precautionary measure in response to an emergency 911 call originating from the Residence Halls. The call indicated the presence of an individual with a weapon in the Residence Halls. The situation has been resolved and at no time were students, faculty, staff, or members of the community at risk.
"Following the 911 call, MVCC promptly implemented a Shelter-in-Place order and initiating safety protocols in coordination with Utica Police. As part of these safety procedures, MVCC evacuated the respective dormitories and searched the campus to thoroughly inspect and ensure the safety and security of all residents.
"After a comprehensive review and search of all dormitories, there was no evidence to substantiate the report. At this time, MVCC would like to assure the community that the Utica campus is secure and there is no ongoing threat.
"Classes and other activities at MVCC will resume as scheduled," the release stated.
11/7; 11 a.m.โ"Metro SWAT, along with members of the Utica Police Department, Oneida County Sheriff's Office, New York State Police, and MVCC Security, are currently in the process of clearing each building on the MVCC campus. At this point, there is no threat that has been located on campus. Updates will be released as soon as the building sweeps are completed," according to the Utica Police Department.
Mohawk Valley Community College's Utica campus is currently on lockdown.

The Constable Hall Association in partnership with the Greater Thousand Islands Literacy Council and the Constableville Library present the "Twas the Night Before Christmas 200th Anniversary Celebration" party on Sunday, November 12th from 1PM-4:30PM at the Constableville Library on 3158 Main Street in Constableville, NY.
The guest of honor for the celebration is author and historian Pamela McColl who is touring the country to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the classic poem with her book, "Twas The Night-The Art and History of the Classic Christmas Poem".
The author calls the masterpiece of juvenile fiction the most often read, recited, reprinted and collected work in the library of English literature and considers the 200th milestone of this warm-hearted poem cause for celebration.
Constable Hall is believed to be the inspiration for the classic poem. Poet Clement Moore visited his widowed cousin Mary Eliza Constable and her five children many times during the Christmas Holidays.
This celebration begins at 1pm with kid's crafts, Christmas Karaoke, a visit from Santa, hot chocolate, cider and snacks.
At 2pm Ms. McColl will give a talk about the history of the classic poem with a question-and-answer session afterwards as well as a book signing.
Books and Constable Hall gifts will be available for purchase.
This celebration is free and open to the public with donations gratefully accepted.
