Today, as we celebrate Independence Day and commemorate America's 250th anniversary, the Town of Loxahatchee Groves wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday filled with family, community, and gratitude for the freedoms and values that unite our nation.

Residents and visitors are reminded that personal fireworks are strongly discouraged within Loxahatchee Groves due to our rural and equestrian character, extensive livestock, and natural wooded areas. The loud noises and bright flashes associated with fireworks can pose serious fire risks and may startle local wildlife or cause horses to panic.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe as we celebrate 250 years of American independence. We wish everyone a happy and memorable Fourth of July.

The Town of Loxahatchee Groves is gearing up for hurricane season by hosting Vegetation Amnesty Days during the First two weeks of July. During this period, residents are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to dispose of vegetative waste at no extra cost, as the service charge will be waived.

Residents can place a generous amount of vegetative waste in their designated location for pickup on their regularly scheduled yard waste pickup day. This includes grass clippings, leaves, trees, and shrubbery cuttings or trimmings, as well as broken or cut tree limbs and logs.

This initiative aims to conduct a comprehensive cleanup across the Town in preparation for the upcoming hurricane season. Proper removal of landscape debris not only keeps storm drains clear but also helps minimize flooding during summer rains and hurricanes.
To participate in Vegetation Amnesty Days, residents should adhere to the following guidelines for yard/bulk waste disposal:

-Place waste at your designated location no earlier than the day preceding the scheduled collection day.
- Consolidate waste into a single pile.
Bag grass cuttings, small trimmings, and leaves in plastic bags.
- Cut tree limbs and branches into lengths no longer than 4 feet.
- Cut tree trunks and stumps into sections no longer than 4 feet and no larger than 12 inches in diameter.
- Do not mix yard waste with any other type of debris.

Please note that Vegetation Amnesty Days do not apply to commercial properties or landscape contractors.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Public Works Department at 561-807-6671.
