Northern Clayton County Fire Departments were out on storm watch when this decided to show up.
We hope everyone was in their safe place, and was taking it seriously.

Another round of severe weather is in the offing for this afternoon across mainly northeast Iowa into southern Wisconsin, where scattered storms are expected to develop and around 3pm and track to the east. The environment will be very supportive of large hail (2+"), damaging winds of 60-70 mph, and possibly a few tornadoes in a narrow corridor in the Level 3 Risk area. Confidence in the northern extent of the storms in the Level 1 and 2 risk areas is much less certain and there is a chance that these areas could stay dry.

Luana Fire would like to send a big thank you to Decorah Kawasaki Suzuki Sports Center for the new Kawasaki Mule HD on the Kawasaki Loaner Program.

We also received a grant from the DNR for New Blowers.

Next we would like to Thank Everyone who came out to support our Pancake Breakfast. It truly means alot to a small Department like ours.

🌪️ Statewide Tornado Drill 10 AM

As part of the statewide tornado drill, many of the communities in Clayton County will be activating their outdoor warning sirens. This is the perfect time for you to practice what you’d do during a tornado.

Saturday night we held our annual appreciation supper for all of our firefighters and spouses at the Luana Tap. Chief Baade presented years of service pins to the following
Zachary Radloff - 5 years
Jim Meyer - 20 years
Justin Grove - 30 years
Eugene Hemmersbach was presented a shadow box with some of his firefighting gear for his retirement after 26 years.

$59,000 - 13 sets of gear.

After receiving a grant from Upper Mississippi Gaming Corporation for $46,000 in October, we will finally be putting our new gear into service.

It costs around $5,000 to outfit one firefighter. We could not operate safely without the help from the community and from grants like to one received from UMGC.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to our fundraisers and the organizations that have chosen us for grants!!
