This is a big deal & once again Lubbock is represented very well on one of the States biggest stages!!! A big thank you to our Texas Speaker of the House!!!

For only the second time in Texas history, the sitting Speaker of the Texas House will address delegates at our State Convention.

Speaker Burrows is also stepping forward as a sponsor of the convention as well. That has never happened before.

Before Speaker Burrows held office, he was a delegate and a precinct chair.

He’s sat in those same seats, had those same conversations, and understands exactly what it means to show up and help shape the future of Texas.

We are grateful for his willingness to not only support this convention, but to be part of it in a way that respects and recognizes the delegates who make this party strong.

We look forward to welcoming Speaker Burrows to the 2026 Texas Republican Convention and to a historic moment for our party and our state.

I’m saddened to hear of the loss of my friend Chad Hasty. He was a faithful, well spoken voice for the conservative movement. More importantly than that he was a follower of Jesus and he loved his family well. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and his countless fans in this time of loss. - David Bruegel

Elisabeth and I are heartbroken to learn of the unexpected passing of Chad Hasty.

Texas has lost a powerful voice for conservative truth, integrity, and common sense. Chad wasn’t just a broadcaster, he was one of the very best to ever cover the people, policy, and politics shaping the Texas Legislature and our state. He asked the right questions, gave fair room for debate, and, most importantly, he made sure Texans stayed informed.

I’m especially grateful for the role Chad played in my own journey to and through the Texas House. Time and again, he offered me a seat at his microphone and the opportunity to speak directly to the people I serve. He believed in giving leaders a platform — and holding them accountable — and he did both with professionalism, respect, and a healthy dose of humor.

West Texas feels a lot quieter today with the loss of his voice.

We are deeply saddened and our prayers are with his family, his listeners, and all who knew him.

He will be greatly missed.
