Happy September!!

We wanted to brag on our dispatchers at the Lubbock Police Department because last month our emergency communication center answered 42,414 calls including:

🚨13,751 emergency calls
📞28,663 non emergency calls
💬57 SMS ( yes you can text 911 if you are unable to talk or call )

Our Communication Center is working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer the call and ensure that the citizens of Lubbock get the resources they need.

🚨APCO Conference- Day 1

What a great first day at the APCO conference! 🎉 We had the opportunity to attend several excellent classes focused on overcoming burnout and strengthening our training program. These sessions reinforced how important it is to take care of the people who take care of our communities every day.

💙Connecting with others in emergency communications allows us to share ideas, learn from different experiences, and ensure we are doing the very best we can for our team members and the people we serve.

A sincere thank you to Lubbock Emergency Communications District for making this opportunity possible. We are excited to bring back new ideas, renewed motivation, and practical tools that will help us continue supporting our people and strengthening our organization.

Every year, the Lubbock Police Department's Emergency Communications Center has the opportunity to send members of their team to national conferences to expand their knowledge, learn from industry experts, and bring valuable information back to the South Plains. 💙

This week, their Communications Manager and two Communications Supervisors are in San Antonio attending the APCO Conference & Expo! 🏙️📚 During this four-day event, public safety communications professionals, emergency responders, and industry vendors come together to explore the latest technology, best practices, and innovations in emergency communications. 🎧🚑🚒

We're excited to welcome them home next week and can't wait to see what they've learned to help us continue providing the highest level of service to the Lubbock community! ❤️🤝
