Buckner Children and Family Services transforms the lives of vulnerable children and builds strong families through Christ-centered values. Foster Care and Adoption - Buckner provides the training and resources needed to become a family to a child for a season through foster care or a forever family through domestic foster care or adoption. Children in these programs are most often referred throug

Foster Youth Aging Out Services - Our support programs are provided for current and former youth in state foster care, ages 16-21. The goal of the aging out program is to provide training, support and guidance to youth graduating from foster care that will enhance their ability to transition into independent living. The program helps clients find jobs, financial assistance, case management, counseling and mentor connections. Right now, there are over 500 children over the age of 13 waiting for adoption. These are kids who, by no fault of their own, need a safe place to call home. The statistics are staggering for youth who age out of foster care, but loving families can make a difference.

If youโ€™ve ever thought about adoption, consider adopting a teenager. We have virtual information meetings where you can learn more about adoption and our organization.

We promise to walk beside you with counseling, resources, and more as we work together to provide loving homes to deserving kids.

To learn about how you can adopt a teenager, fill out the contact form on our website: https://na2.hubs.ly/H06X2bz0

๐Ÿ‘‰ As children in the foster care system get older, itโ€™s common for their hope of adoption to fade. In Texas, more than 1,000 kids age out of foster care each year.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Another added challenge is finding a home that can take in a group of siblings so they can stay together. According to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, more than 7,000 sibling groups in the state of Texas are currently in foster care.

Those with safe homes and willing hearts can stand in the gap for children in foster care. Is God calling you? Join Buckner for a no-obligation, virtual information meeting: https://na2.hubs.ly/H07ls0d0

Upcoming meeting dates: August 27 | September 10 | September 24

Joselyn, age 9, after hearing about our community shoe drive at Buckner Lubbock, decided to host a lemonade stand to raise money for shoes โ€” raising $41. Her older brother, Jude, in seeing her efforts, decided to match her donation. Together with their younger sister, Juliet, they brought their donations via their mom. Our Buckner Lubbock team were able to show them the shoes that have come in the building and share some of our Buckner programs. After hearing about our Foster Care program and how we help children, Jude asked for his donation to go to the Foster Care & Adoption program.

Thank you, Joselyn, Jude, and Juliet for your loving hearts and for giving back to the community in such a meaningful way!

Less than 3% of youth who age out of foster care earn a college degree, although 70% of kids in foster care regularly say they would like to attend college one day.

Former foster youth shouldn't be left to navigate from adolescence to adulthood on their own. Our transition programs are here to help with this adjustment and to give youth the tools they need to succeed.

Curious if our educational, career, and living resources are a good fit for you? We are here to support. Visit our page for more information today: https://na2.hubs.ly/H06Q76K0
