🚲 Did You Know? Texas Tech Police Department has a Bicycle Patrol Division!

Our bike officers help us cover more ground, increase visibility, and build stronger connections with the Red Raider community. Being on bikes allows our officers to interact more with students, respond quickly, and help prevent crime through a greater presence on campus.

Earlier this spring, several of our officers completed bicycle officer training and became certified bicycle officers, adding more officers to our existing Bike Patrol Division and expanding our ability to serve the Texas Tech community on two wheels.

If you see our officers riding around campus, don’t hesitate to say hello — they’re here to help, answer questions, and keep Texas Tech safe. 🔴⚫

A huge thank you to the new 7 Brew location at 12904 Indiana Avenue for bringing drinks to our staff and officers. We are incredibly blessed to have such amazing support from our community.

If you have some time this weekend, be sure to stop by their stand and support their "Coffee for a Cause" event. You can pay what you'd like for your coffee, and all proceeds will be donated to the Flatland Youth Fund.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Today, let us take a moment to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

On this Peace Officers Memorial Day, we remember not only our fallen officers, but all law enforcement officers across the nation who never made it home.

Officer East and Officer Eade - we will never forget you.

Today, we ask everyone to take a moment to remember and honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

And to those still serving, thank you for your service, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our communities. 💙

Finals are almost over, your GPA survived (hopefully), and now it’s time to head home. 🚗🎓

That “I’m finally free!” feeling can make it tempting to hurry, but a safe drive home is more important than saving a few minutes.

We’d rather your phone call home sound like:
“Good news…I passed my finals!”
and not:
“Bad news…I got pulled over on the way home.” 😅

The semester’s done. No need to race to the next checkpoint. Slow down, stay alert, and have a safe summer break! ☀️

Members of the Texas Tech Red Raiders Men's Basketball team helped us kick off National Police Week a little early on Friday by bringing our department donuts and coffee! We are incredibly grateful for amazing students like these young men and for the support they continue to show our officers and staff.
