Did you know, one of our payment methods is check pay issued by your bank?
This process is set up by you, our customer, through your bank.

You determine what day you want the check to pay by selecting the date and the bank debits your account. They then send the information to the accounts payable department, who issues the check and mails it out.

Each bank has its own timeline and process for this, but you can help speed up the process by going in and updating the mailing address.

We have moved from Country Club to 220 Seis Lagos Trl in Wylie, Texas 75098. This will ensure when the bank issues the check, it is mailed to the correct address, and we do not have to wait for mail forwarding to reroute your payment. ๐Ÿ’ก

Meet Audacity Jane "Audi" Tracey

Hello everyone! My name is Audacity Jane, but my friends call me Audi. Ms. Kim calls me Calamity, which I rather liked. Seems very fitting!

I'm a 5-month-old Cane Corso, and I recently moved here with my "spare" human, Misti Tracey, to become an honorary part of the Seis Lagos Utility District family.

Now, I have a little confession to make... I'm not exactly a fan of the car. Misti keeps telling me there are all kinds of exciting places out here, but from my perspective, home is pretty great.
So far, my adventures have mostly consisted of going from the house to the backyard and back again. I did make a few special trips around our neighborhood for walkies after work though. Maybe one day I can make a trip up to the office to meet some of you! Let me tell you, meeting new people is one of my favorite things in the world!

A few things you should know about me:

๐Ÿพ I LOVE making new friends.

๐Ÿ’ฆ I absolutely LOVE water. If there's water involved, I want to investigate it, splash in it, or drink it. I dislike when its confined to a bowl, so I just flip that right out of the way.

๐Ÿฟ My favorite part of every day is when my spare human comes home from work. We settle onto the couch, turn on a good murder mystery, and share some popcorn while I help investigate the crimes from the comfort of a blanket. Detective Audi is on the case!!!

๐Ÿฟ๏ธ I have big dreams. Someday, when I'm a little older and a little braver about riding in the car, I plan to travel and be in lots of dog shows. Eventually I will be a little social butterfly. I would love to spend more time around Seis Lagos also. Mostly because I've heard rumors about squirrels, and I think it's my civic duty as a future district representative to conduct a thorough investigation of every single one of them.

Until then, if you see me around, please stop and say hello. I promise I'll be much more interested in meeting you than handling any official district business.

Pawsitively yours,

Audacity Jane "Audi" Tracey Assistant to the Director of Administrarive Services, keeper in line of the spare human, Water Quality Taste Tester, and Future Squirrel Patrol Officer ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’•

A Message of Thanks to Our Community and Our Board

Now that this chapter is finally behind us, we wanted to take a moment to simply say thank you.

Moments like a major water main break do more than test infrastructure. They test people. They test patience, communication, resilience, and community. When everyday routines are disrupted and uncertainty enters the picture, that's when true character shows itself.

Over the past week, we saw a lot of true colors shine through.

We saw crews work long hours in difficult conditions because they understood families were depending on them. We saw residents checking on neighbors, sharing information, offering encouragement, and extending grace while repairs and testing were completed. We saw people choose patience when the process couldn't move as quickly as any of us wanted.

And yes, as with any challenging situation, we saw the ugly side too. Being without normal water service is a significant inconvenience, and we understand the emotions that come with that also. Through it all, though, we learned a great deal about our community and about each and every one of our residents.

The overwhelming takeaway is that we made it through this together.

In some ways, we're all a little "trauma bonded" together now. This wasn't an experience anyone wanted, but it became a reminder that behind the water system, the social media posts, the emails, the phone calls, and the repair crews are real people.

We all know what the employees' roles were. Employees who have made themselves available day and night constantly for 154 + hours. Relentlessly. Sacrificed time with family, canceled plans, and gone without to make sure this was done and done right. I personally could not be more proud of each and every one of them. I am in awe of all five of them.

Employee's who care deeply about this community.

As we reflect on everything that took place over the past several days, almost a week now, I think it's important to recognize a group of people who may not always be visible to the public: our Board of Directors.

A Special Thank You to You guys.

These men are not paid. They are volunteers who dedicate their personal time to serving this community. After what I witnessed during this event, I can honestly say that Seis Lagos residents voted for the right people.

Our Board President was there from the very beginning. He was among the first on the scene when the break occurred and remained actively involved throughout the repair. He helped coordinate efforts on the ground, worked alongside staff, made sure crews and office personnel had food, and stood in the rain right beside the men performing the repairs. Most board presidents would never be that hands-on. His leadership wasn't from behind a desk. It was boots on the ground, in the mud, in the rain, doing whatever needed to be done.

Even today, his primary concern was making sure that the water was safe!!!

Our Vice President was equally committed behind the scenes. While others were in the field, he was handling logistics, making calls, helping navigate compliance requirements, coordinating resources, working emergency plan B options and putting in just as many hours to keep things moving. Much of what he accomplished happened quietly, but it was every bit as essential to the success of the response.

One of our long-serving board members was also out there in the rain and mud supporting our field crews, helping wherever he could, while simultaneously working with me behind the scenes. He assisted with website updates, information gathering, resident notifications, and answering questions so that we could keep the community informed throughout the process. I might have been the voice through this, but it was with his help.

What impressed me most wasn't just the number of hours they put in. It was their willingness to do whatever was needed, regardless of whether it was glamorous, visible, or comfortable.

During difficult situations, people often show who they really are. I had the unique opportunity to watch these gentlemen up close through long days, late nights, rain, frustration, uncertainty, and immense pressure. What I saw was leadership, commitment, humility, and a genuine concern for the people of this community.

As a utility professional, I have worked with many governing boards over the years. I can honestly say the level of support provided during this event went well above and beyond anything I have personally witnessed before.

To our Board of Directors: thank you for your leadership, your sacrifice, your countless hours, and your unwavering support of both our staff and our residents.

And behind every service connection is a family, a neighbor, and a resident who makes this community what it is.

Thank you to the residents who reached out. Who commented. Who supported. Who called. When I say it means more than you could possibly know, I mean that from the bottom of my heart. You were the reason we kept going. You were the reason behind all of the effort!

I learned so much about the heart of this community through all of this.

Adversity has a way of revealing what people are made of, and during this event we saw far more kindness, patience, understanding, and perseverance than anything else.

Thank you for your trust. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your understanding. Thank you for walking through this with us.

We didn't overcome this obstacle as a utility district alone. We overcame it as a community.

โค๏ธ From all of us at Seis Lagos Utility District, thank you for reminding us what makes this community so special.

Q: What is the timeline and decision criteria for needing to do something other than continuing to retest? What triggers the need to investigate whether something more proactive should be done than just retesting?

A: Great question, and one I'm sure many residents are wondering about.

Simply continuing to retest indefinitely is not the goal. Each round of sampling helps determine whether we are seeing an isolated result or evidence of an ongoing issue that would require additional corrective action.

The decision is based on the test results themselves, not on a specific number of days. If follow-up samples continue to show the presence of bacteria, or if multiple sampling locations begin showing positive results, operators would investigate more aggressively. Depending on what the data suggests, that could include additional flushing, increased disinfection efforts, collecting samples from additional locations, inspecting infrastructure, or other corrective measures.

It is also important to understand that we are not simply waiting for bacteria to "dilute away." The system maintains a disinfectant residual, and testing is being performed to verify that the water being delivered meets all safety standards. The purpose of repeat sampling is to confirm that the system is safe throughout the distribution network following the main break.

In our specific situation, all other sampling locations have returned negative results. The only location that has continued to show a positive result is the same sampling point that was retested. Because every other sample in the system has tested negative, this suggests the issue may be isolated to that specific sampling location rather than indicating contamination throughout the water system.

One possibility is contamination associated with the outside faucet or sampling point itself. However, it is important to note that we cannot make that determination based on assumptions alone. The laboratory results and regulatory requirements must guide the process.

By law, the boil notice cannot be lifted until all required samples from all sampling locations return satisfactory results. Even when there is strong reason to believe a positive result may be related to the sampling location rather than the water system itself, we must follow the required testing and verification process before the notice can be removed.

In short, the trigger for additional action is not the passage of time, but rather repeat detections, trends in sample locations, chlorine residual data, and the overall assessment of the system. Our goal is not simply to obtain a passing test result, but to ensure and verify that the water is safe for every resident before the boil notice is lifted.
