Today, we proudly recognize Firefighter/Paramedic Jackson Kurtz on 5 years of service with Lucas Fire-Rescue! 🚒👏

Jackson began his career with Lucas Fire-Rescue as a Volunteer Firefighter in June 2021 and joined the department full-time in October 2021. Since then, he has become a valued member of our team, demonstrating a strong commitment to serving our community and supporting his fellow firefighters.

In addition to his operational responsibilities, Jackson serves as one of our EMS Field Training Officers, helping mentor and develop the next generation of paramedics through his knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to excellence in patient care.

Thank you, Jackson, for your service, hard work, and commitment to Lucas Fire-Rescue over the past five years. Congratulations on this milestone, and we look forward to your continued success!

🏆⚾ Welcome Home, State Champions! ⚾🏆

The Lovejoy Leopards are your 2026 UIL 5A Division II State Champions, bringing home the program's first-ever baseball state title with a 7-2 victory over Mission Sharyland Rattlers at Dell Diamond.

Lucas Fire-Rescue was proud to help welcome the team home with a water salute and lights-and-sirens.

Congratulations to the players, coaches, families, and all of Leopard Nation on this historic achievement!

❤️🪖Remember Everyone Deployed • R.E.D. Shirt Friday🪖❤️

Every Friday, our department proudly wears red in recognition of Red Shirt Friday (R.E.D. Friday) — Remember Everyone Deployed.

What began as a grassroots movement in the early 2000s has grown into a nationwide show of support for the brave men and women of our Armed Forces serving overseas. By wearing red, we honor those currently deployed, recognize the sacrifices they and their families make, and send a simple but powerful message: you are not forgotten.

As firefighters, we understand the commitment, sacrifice, and dedication that come with answering the call to serve. Many of our own members, family members, friends, and community members have served—or are currently serving—in the military.

Today, we stand together as a Band of Brothers and Sisters, united in respect and gratitude for those defending our freedoms around the world. Wearing red is a small gesture, but it reflects our unwavering support for our deployed service members and their families.

Today, we proudly recognize Engineer Anthony Aguinaga on 10 years of service with Lucas Fire-Rescue! 🚒👏

Anthony began his career with Lucas Fire-Rescue as a Volunteer Firefighter in June 2016 and joined the department full-time in March 2020. Through his hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our community, he was promoted to Engineer in January 2023.

Over the past decade, Anthony has been a valued member of our team, consistently demonstrating professionalism, dependability, and a strong commitment to the fire service. His contributions have helped strengthen our department and enhance the service we provide to the citizens of Lucas.

Thank you, Anthony, for 10 years of dedication and service to Lucas Fire-Rescue. Congratulations on this milestone, and we look forward to many more years ahead!

🚒❤️ A Special Visitor at Lucas Fire-Rescue❤️🚒

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming a very special guest to the fire station, Rose!

Rose stopped by with homemade cookies, licorice whips, and even a toy fire engine for the firefighters. Needless to say, she quickly became a favorite around the station. 🍪🚒

During her visit, Rose got a behind-the-scenes tour of the station, spent time with the crew, and even had the opportunity to ride with her dad on Engine 861.

Thank you, Rose, for the treats, smiles, and kindness you shared with our firefighters. We loved having you at the station and hope to see you again soon!

Last night, we held our push-in ceremony to officially place Engine 861 and Medic 861 into service! 🚒🚑

Thank you to everyone in the Lucas community who came out to be a part of this special tradition and celebrate alongside us. We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to these new apparatus serving our community for many years to come.

🚨 PUSH-IN CEREMONY STILL ON! 🚨

Despite the weather, the Engine 861 & Medic 861 Push-In Ceremony is still scheduled for today at 6:00 PM at Lucas Fire-Rescue.

We look forward to celebrating this special occasion with our community as we officially welcome these new apparatus into service. Please use caution while traveling and allow extra time due to weather conditions.

Training Day on the Water 🚒🌊

On May 12, 2026, Lucas Fire-Rescue had the opportunity to participate in hoist training alongside Wylie Fire-Rescue, Texas DPS Air Support (DPS 101 & DPS 102), Dallas Fire-Rescue, and the Corp of Engineers. Crews trained on coordinated rescue operations involving helicopter hoist procedures, water rescue integration, communication, and victim extraction techniques.

These joint training exercises are invaluable in strengthening regional partnerships and ensuring our crews remain prepared for complex rescue situations both on land and on the water.

A huge thank you to Wylie Fire Rescue, Texas DPS, Dallas Fire-Rescue and the Corp of Engineers for the collaboration, professionalism, and commitment to public safety. We appreciate every opportunity to train together and continue building strong interagency relationships that benefit the communities we serve.
