🚒 Grant Gear Has Arrived! 🧑‍🚒

Earlier this year, we were excited to announce that Lucas Fire-Rescue received a $26,429 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and now, all five complete sets of new bunker gear are officially here and ready for service!

This funding provided critical protective gear for (5) of our Lucas firefighters, helping ensure they have the protection they need while responding to emergencies and serving our community.
We are incredibly grateful to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, our local Firehouse Subs restaurant in Allen, and everyone who supports the Foundation through donations.

Your generosity directly supports first responders and helps keep both our firefighters and the communities we serve safer.

The City of Lucas and Collin County are under a burn ban due to current dry conditions and extreme fire danger. Outdoor burning is prohibited within the City of Lucas and unincorporated areas of Collin County while the ban remains in effect.

The burn ban will remain in effect for 90 days unless the Texas A&M Forest Service or the Collin County Commissioners' Court determines that it is no longer necessary.

Residents are encouraged to use additional caution with any outdoor activity that could produce sparks or ignite dry vegetation.

🚒💦🎒A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Back to School Water Bash! We loved seeing so many families come out to enjoy one last summer celebration before the school year begins.

From running through the fire engine spray to cooling off with Kona Ice, it was a fun-filled evening made even better by our amazing community. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this event such a success!

Today, we proudly recognize Firefighter/Paramedic Chris Madonna on 6 years of service with Lucas Fire-Rescue! 🚒👏

Chris began his journey with Lucas Fire-Rescue as a Volunteer Firefighter in August 2020 before joining the department full-time in October 2021. Since then, he has become a valued member of our department, serving our community with professionalism, dedication, and compassion.

In addition to his operational responsibilities, Chris serves as one of our EMS Field Training Officers, helping mentor and develop new paramedics while sharing his knowledge and experience. He is also a proud member of the Lucas Fire-Rescue Honor Guard, representing our department with dignity and professionalism during ceremonial events and honors. Chris continues to grow professionally by pursuing coursework in Fire Investigations, further demonstrating his commitment to expanding his skills and serving the department in new ways.

Thank you, Chris, for six years of dedicated service to Lucas Fire-Rescue. Congratulations on this milestone, and we look forward to your continued success and contributions in the years ahead!

We're proud to recognize Lucas Fire-Rescue Rehab Coordinator Jimmy Taylor for his service with the Texas State Guard during Operation Border Health, a large-scale public health emergency preparedness exercise serving communities along the Texas border.

Jimmy serves as the Chief Nursing Officer, advising the Site Commander on all aspects of clinical care and clinic operations while working alongside healthcare professionals and volunteers to provide medical care and resources to underserved communities.

Thank you, Jimmy, for representing Lucas Fire-Rescue with professionalism and compassion. We are grateful for your dedication to serving others, both here at home and across the State of Texas!

Volunteer Opportunity: Join the Friends of Lucas Fire-Rescue Board of Directors

Support those who are always ready to support us. Join the Friends of Lucas Fire-Rescue and help make a difference in our community. The Friends of Lucas Fire-Rescue, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking dedicated volunteers to serve on its Board of Directors.

We are currently accepting applications from Lucas residents and local business owners who are passionate about supporting our first responders and the community they serve.

The Friends of LFR was established to help manage charitable donations made to the Lucas Fire Department and to provide a simple, transparent way for community members and businesses to contribute in support of public safety initiatives. As restoration efforts on "Ole Streaker," Lucas' historic fire engine, nears completion, the Friends of LFR are preparing to launch new initiatives and fundraising efforts that will further support our first responders and the citizens they protect.

Board members will help guide the organization's mission, support fundraising and community outreach efforts, and assist in identifying opportunities to strengthen fire-rescue services through charitable support. Whether you have experience in nonprofit leadership, finance, fundraising, marketing, event planning, or simply a desire to give back to the community, we encourage you to apply.
