Tanner-Williams Bridge Reopened

The Jackson County Road Department is pleased to announce that the Tanner-Williams Bridge is now open to all traffic following the completion of essential repairs.

We understand how difficult the detour and delays were for residents and commuters. However, the safety of our community is always our top priority, and the repairs made were necessary to ensure the long-term integrity and structural soundness of the bridge and roadway.

The Jackson County Road Department deeply appreciates the public’s patience, understanding, and cooperation while our crews worked diligently to complete these critical repairs.

Thank you for your continued trust as we work to maintain safe and reliable infrastructure throughout Jackson County.

We’re very disappointed to report that sometime Friday night 11/21/25 the flagpole at the Movella Volunteer Fire Department was struck and run over by what appears to be a four-wheeler.
This flagpole and American flag were generously donated to the department by WoodmenLife as a symbol of community pride and gratitude for our volunteers’ service.
The men and women here volunteer their time – often in the middle of the night – to protect all of us, and it’s upsetting to see our station treated this way.
