August 2026 District Update 💦

As summer continues, North Weld County Water District is keeping customers informed about current irrigation water supply conditions and important service updates.

This month’s update focuses on the temporary potable irrigation supply for WildWing and Saddler. Customers can find additional information about the temporary rate changes, when potable irrigation water will be provided through, and ways to use water efficiently during the remainder of the irrigation season.

July 2026 District Update 💧

Our July newsletter is now available and includes important updates to help keep our customers informed.

This month’s featured update explains the temporary transition from non-potable to potable irrigation water due to ongoing drought conditions and historically low non-potable water supplies. This temporary change only affects non-potable irrigation customers. The newsletter also provides additional information on how this transition will impact non-potable irrigation rates.

Important Update: Saddler Irrigation Water Supply and Upcoming Board Decision

Colorado is in a statewide drought emergency. Snowpack was well below average this year, and irrigation water supplies are at historical low levels across northern Colorado. This shortage is affecting water providers region-wide and is not unique to the District. North Weld County Water District (the “District”) has noticed customers that the non-potable water supply that is used for the Saddler irrigation system will be depleted mid-August. To support residents, the District will transition the Saddler irrigation system to potable (treated) water once the non-potable raw water supply is exhausted.
The Board of Directors (the “Board”) considered rate adjustments at its July 13, 2026, regular meeting and established the price for Saddler’s non-potable irrigation service through the 2026 irrigation season to the potable water rate. Potable water is more costly to treat and deliver and therefore, the District will increase your irrigation rate from $1.50 per 1,000 gallons to $5.19 per 1,000 gallons during the period potable water is used. This rate reflects the increased costs of potable water treatment and delivery and is not higher than cost recovery. The potable irrigation service will be in effect through September 17, 2026. If conditions improve next year, the District will resume the use of available non-potable water supply at the lower raw water rate. The District is committed to returning to lower non-potable rates as soon as supply conditions allow.
We encourage all homeowners to conserve water whenever possible. Reducing outdoor watering during cooler parts of the day and eliminating unnecessary irrigation will help stretch available supplies and reduce costs. Every reduction in outdoor watering directly reduces the volume of higher-cost potable water used, which lowers your bill during this period.

June 2026 District Update 💦

Our June newsletter is now available! This month’s update highlights two important reports that reflect North Weld County Water District’s commitment to providing safe, reliable water service while maintaining transparency and accountability to our customers.

The 2026 Annual Water Quality Report provides detailed information about your drinking water source, water quality testing, and compliance with all federal and state drinking water standards. Also featured is the 2025 Financial Audit, an independent review of the District’s financial statements and operations that demonstrates our commitment to responsible financial stewardship.

As we continue through irrigation season, we also encourage customers to follow our voluntary watering guidelines. Simple changes, such as watering during the cooler parts of the day and avoiding unnecessary runoff, can help conserve water, improve irrigation efficiency, and support the long-term sustainability of our community’s water resources.

💦Notice of Non-Potable Meter Activation💦

North Weld County Water District will activate your non-potable (irrigation) meter for the irrigation season for Saddler Subdivision on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026.
You MUST have your irrigation system ready for activation before 9th of June for Saddler Subdivision.
The non-potable meter is a District owned facility. No irrigation technician/company should be in the meter pit or attempting work on the District’s meter or valves located before and after the meter pit.

May 2026 District Update🌞

As irrigation season begins, North Weld County Water District encourages customers to follow voluntary watering restrictions to help reduce unnecessary water waste and support responsible water use throughout our community. This month’s newsletter also includes our 2026 Annual Water Quality Report. We are proud to continue providing safe, reliable drinking water that meets or exceeds all federal and state water quality standards. The report contains important information regarding your water source, testing process, and water quality results.
