Tropical Storm Dolly Update 08/27/2026 1:30 PM

Long County Fire and EMA is aware of and actively monitoring Tropical Storm Dolly. At this time, the storm poses no immediate threat to Long County or our surrounding area. We will continue monitoring official forecasts and provide updates if conditions change.

As we enter the peak of hurricane season, now is an excellent time to prepare your family and residence for any storm that could affect our area later this season.
Preparedness steps include:
• Create and review your family’s emergency and communication plan.
• Assemble several days’ worth of water, nonperishable food and essential supplies.
• Include medications, first-aid supplies, flashlights, batteries and phone chargers.
• Prepare supplies for infants, older adults, individuals with disabilities and pets.
• Keep important documents and insurance information in a waterproof container.
• Know where you would go and which routes you would use if evacuation became necessary.
• Secure outdoor furniture, clean gutters and inspect your home for potential hazards.
• Keep vehicles fueled and have cash available in case power outages affect gas stations or ATMs.
• Download the FEMA App and ensure emergency alerts are enabled on your phone.
Preparedness should begin before a storm threatens our community. Taking a few simple steps today can make a significant difference during an emergency.
