Kurth Memorial Library

Kurth Memorial Library Expanding minds, and connecting worlds
beyond the pages. Come in and open up your world!

In 1924 a group of Lufkin ladies began the library with a collection of books housed in a former Kindergarten classroom. From that vision, dedication to education, and a small group of books they grew into Kurth Memorial Library which now houses over 100,000 items. The ribbon cutting for the current 50,000 square foot building was held on April 26, 2001. While serving communities within over a 50-

mile radius with weekly Baby Lap Sit program, Children's Story Time, Bilingual Programming, Adult Crafternoon, Teen Karaoke Night, book clubs for kids, teens and adults, an Extensive Summer Reading program and more, the Kurth Memorial Library continues to open up your world!
