Hey !! Who's ready for some ?? We are counting down the days 🎡🎪🎟

Our schedule will look slightly different this week. While our Lufkin VFW Cantina will remain open all week, we will not have our normally scheduled activities on Thursday and Friday.

That means NO POOL TOURNAMENT, NO POKER TOURNAMENT, and NO BEGINNER CO****LE.

We will have our normal schedule on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday!!

And remember to for October 24 for our next 🔫 bingo!!

🍔 Ray’s Drive-In -Lufkin, Texas

We made the drive to Lufkin to try Ray’s Drive-In, a classic, family-owned Lufkin drive-in that dates back to 1959. It has that nostalgic, throwback feel with carhop service, burgers, fries and good old-fashioned comfort food. ❤️

Their specialty burgers are a must-try, and they have everything from burger baskets to chicken, steak finger and seafood baskets.

I had the jalapeño burger with cheese and a Frito pie, and that burger was SO good! Juicy and tasty, and I topped it with their jalapeño ranch. 🌶️🍔

And the Frito pie… mmm! 😋 Rich and hearty with cheese and onion—just the kind of comfort food I was craving!

They also have gluten-free buns, which is always a nice option to have!

Tomorrow is the day, Lufkin.

Piney Woods Comic Con is bringing the fun to Pitser Garrison Convention Center August 29-30, and the weekend is looking packed with cosplay, vendors, artists, gaming, photo ops, and plenty of reasons to bring the whole crew.

Kids, collectors, anime fans, comic fans, gamers, and first-time con guests are all welcome.

🎄✨ Registration is officially open for Lufkin’s Lighted Christmas Parade 2026!

Parade entry registration is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Spots fill up fast, so businesses, schools, churches, marching bands, dance groups, nonprofits, clubs, and community organizations are encouraged to register early.

This year’s theme is Red, White & Bright: An American Christmas, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America with Christmas lights, hometown pride, classic Americana, and the spirit of unity that brings our community together.

🇮🇹❤️ How cool is this?! Lufkin made the itinerary for visitors all the way from Italy!

We love hearing stories like this. A stop in Lufkin turned into a tour of The Pines Theater and a chance to experience a little piece of the history and charm that makes our community so special.

Thank you to Angelina Arts Alliance for giving our visitors such a warm Lufkin welcome! We hope their travels bring them back our way again someday. ✈️

And now we have to ask: If someone were visiting Lufkin for the very first time, what is the ONE place you would tell them they absolutely have to see? 👇

🇮🇹➡️🇺🇸 Apparently, Lufkin made the international itinerary. ✈️

While putting up the marquee this week, I met the sweetest couple visiting all the way from Italy. After spending time in Nashville, they were taking a little detour through small-town America, and somehow, Lufkin was one of their stops. 🥹

I didn’t catch their names, but I did get to give them a quick tour of The Pines and watch their faces light up as they took it all in. And honestly? It was a pretty great reminder that sometimes we forget how special the place we call home really is.
