🎓 Polk County Drug-Free Councils ended the school year by encouraging students to make safe choices during graduation celebrations and throughout the summer months.

At Corrigan-Camden High School, Drug-Free Council members assembled paper fans for graduating seniors featuring the message, “Stay cool. Live sober.”

At Leggett High School, seniors received “Graduate Strong. Celebrate Smart.” buttons as reminders to celebrate responsibly and safely.

At Livingston High School, students signed a graduation safety pledge banner and received rubber ducks featuring the message, “Rubber ducky this is wise, no alcohol as you rise. Celebrate graduation safely.”

A big thank you to the students and sponsors who helped spread positive prevention messages and encourage a safe, successful summer for their peers. ☀️🎉

🎓 Cherokee County Drug-Free Councils wrapped up the school year with activities focused on alcohol prevention, safe celebrations for graduating seniors, and summer safety for all students.

At Alto High School, Drug-Free Council members handed out Takis and Hot Cheetos with prevention messages reminding students that “Takis are hot, underage drinking is not” and “Don’t let drinking steal your dreams.”

At Wells High School, graduating seniors received “Graduate Strong. Celebrate Smart.” buttons as part of their end-of-year goodie bags distributed during the senior assembly.

We are proud of these students and sponsors for promoting healthy choices, safe celebrations, and a fun, safe summer. ☀️🎉

☀️🏖️ As summer begins, stay connected with your teens when it matters most. The freedom of these months brings both opportunities and challenges. 🌊

The good news? Teens whose parents talk consistently about avoiding drugs, alcohol, and risky behaviors are far less likely to experiment. 💬✅

These don't need to be formal "talks"—casual conversations during drives, meals, or walks create natural moments to listen and guide. 🚗🍽️ Know their plans, meet their friends, and be clear about expectations. Help them prepare responses for difficult situations and remind them they can always call you for help. 📞💙

Your influence matters more than peer pressure. Let's make this a summer of growth, connection, and positive choices. ✨
