๐Ÿš’ Community Support Request ๐Ÿš’

Our volunteers are working hard to protect our community, and with the heat rising, we could use a little help.

We are currently requesting donations of bottled water and Gatorade/sports drinks to help keep our firefighters hydrated during calls, training, and long hours at the station.

If youโ€™d like to donate, please message us or stop by the station. Every case and every bottle makes a difference.

We are proud to serve this community, and weโ€™re grateful for the support you always show us. Thank you for standing behind your local volunteers

Many have asked, and Itโ€™s finally that time of year again! Our beloved annual picture fundraiser officially starts today, and we are excited to kick things off in the community.

Over the next couple of weeks, a representative will be going door-to-door in the area. He will be driving the vehicle pictured and will have proper identification with him so you can feel confident in who youโ€™re speaking with.

This fundraiser helps support our department with essential equipment, training, and resources so we can continue serving and protecting our community.

FYI....I know everyone is trying to keep their pets and themselves warm this weekend. Be Very careful with heat lamps in dog houses as far too often they get knocked down and catch the dog house on fire which burns down a lot of houses !!! And be careful with those space heaters(ck the plug at the wall to be sure it isnt overheating) and with anything that burns gas/propane try to put a carbon monoxide detector in place. Also watch where the exhaust fumes from your generator goes(ie: if the wind blows it up into a soffit vent it gets in the house). Be safe and stay warm !!

Burn ban in effect for Angelina County due to dry conditions and abundance of fuel.

๐Ÿšจ Community Notice ๐Ÿšจ

Residents may notice a strong smell of natural gas in the area today. Please be aware that this is not due to a gas leak.

The odor is the result of a gas company disposing of a scent tank at the scrapyard, which was cut open. This released the odorant (mercaptan) that gives natural gas its smell. While the odor may be strong, there is no danger to the community.

As always, if you suspect a true gas leak near your home or business, call 911 immediately.
