Hats off to SCPPS and RKS! School may be out for summer, but our administrative team is busy getting ready for next year. They spent the day learning more about the 7 Mindsets, digging into data, and planning for the upcoming school year.

The RKS Tigerettes had an amazing time attending camp last week, learning new skills and routines, making memories together, and representing RKS with enthusiasm, hard work, and team spirit. We are so proud of their dedication! A big thank you to the HHS Hi-Steppers for hosting such a great camp!

The summer food service program runs from June 1st-July 9th, 2026, Monday- Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at R.K. Smith Middle School: 281 Judge Edward Dufresne Pwky, Luling and Harry Hurst Middle School: 170 Road Runner Lane, Destrehan. This program is open to all St. Charles Parish children under 18 years old or individuals with special needs attending a state-accredited school; bus transportation to both sites will be provided, but parents may bring their child. There is no registration fee. For more information, call Community Services (985) 764-7944 or (985) 331-3022.

Friday, we said “see you later” to Ms. Douglas as she retired after nearly 40 years in education! Throughout the years, Ms. Douglas has been so much more than a teacher — she has been a coach, mentor, leader, and inspiration to countless students, colleagues, and families in our school and community. Her impact will be felt for generations, and while she will be deeply missed, her legacy will always remain. Thank you, Ms. Douglas, for your dedication, compassion, and the difference you have made in so many lives. Wishing you a retirement filled with joy, relaxation, and all the happiness you deserve!

A HUGE congratulations to our Zearn Champions for the 2025–2026 school year! Kameron Williams completed an incredible 305 lessons, and Luis Oseguera completed 210 lessons! This outstanding achievement took tremendous dedication, perseverance, and hard work. Their commitment paid off through continuous growth and improvement in their math performance. We are so proud of their success!
