Learning to spell is more than just putting letters on paper! 🧠✏️

Our students are using multisensory practice to strengthen their literacy skills—seeing the letters, saying the sounds, moving their hands, and feeling the words as they spell them in shaving cream!

Multisensory learning helps make spelling patterns more memorable, builds stronger connections between sounds and letters, and keeps students actively engaged in the learning process.

Who knew building literacy skills could be this much fun?!

3rd graders are reading Stories Julian Tells where Julian and Huey “accidentally” eat all of the lemon pudding Father made for Mother. So this week, they got to taste it do themselves! They said, “it’s really does taste like a night in the sea—just like Father said it would!” 💛🍋

St. Charles Parish Public Schools is committed to maintaining safe, drug-free schools for our students, employees, and visitors.

At the request of Governor Jeff Landry, school systems across Louisiana are sharing information about increased criminal penalties for ma*****na possession in school zones. Act 305 of the 2026 Regular Legislative Session increased penalties for ma*****na possession on school property, within 2,000 feet of school property, and on school buses.

Our 3rd graders became cloud cover detectives today! They sorted skies, made observations, and used evidence to classify cloud cover as clear, partly cloudy, mostly cloudy, or overcast.

Hands-on learning + scientific thinking = a great day! 💙☁️

Our firsties discovered the magic of “counting on” through a fun number card game!

Working with partners, they practiced number bonds and number sentences while thinking, collaborating, and cheering each other on! 💛👏

Our 3rd graders are comparing and contrasting Julian and Huey’s feelings and actions in The Pudding Like a Night on the Sea. 🌙📖

They’re strengthening their thinking by using text evidence to support their ideas—going back into the text, rereading the exact pages where events happened, and finding evidence to prove their thinking!

​Just a reminder about Picture Day info that was sent home in Friday folders! Picture Day will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026. A make up day has been scheduled for October 15, 2026 for retakes and absentees.

​Order Info: Order forms and online ordering details went home in your student's Friday folder. You may begin sendng in payments and order forms to school. No change will be given. No sibling photos allowed on this day.

​Dress Code: Students must wear their regular school uniform or a school-approved spirit shirt for pictures.
