A few days ago at Walmart, a sweet little girl walked up to our deputies with the biggest smile and asked if she could take a picture with them. Moments like these remind us why community connections matter so much.

To her, it may have just been a simple photo — but to us, it was a reminder that kindness, trust, and positive relationships make a lasting impact.

25th Anniversary of the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center

On Thursday, June 5, 2026, we proudly celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center in Killona. For a quarter of a century, the men and women in our correctional facility have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure safety, security, and professionalism within our community. While their efforts often go unnoticed, their impact is felt daily.

This milestone is not just a celebration of years; it is a tribute to the deputies, staff, and leadership—both past and present—who have stood together through every challenge along the way.

Here's to another 25 years of excellence and many more to come!

**The first photo is of the correctional center and sheriff's office members when it opened, and the second is from 25 years later.
