Please note the change to the Summer Food Service Program and plan accordingly.

*Entergy reports that residents are not affected by this power outage.

Due to a scheduled Entergy power outage for Harry Hurst Middle School, the St. Charles Parish Summer Food Service Program site in Destrehan will be closed on Thursday, June 4.

All meals will instead be served at R.K. Smith Middle School in Luling from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Department of Community Services at 985-764-7944.

Since 2004, Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) has empowered underserved youth through mentoring, education, enrichment, and job readiness programs that build skills and strengthen family and community connections. 💙

Using a strengths-based approach, YEP serves over 1,000 youth annually across 13 parishes, including St. Charles Parish, helping them grow, succeed, and reach their full potential.

Their mission is simple: empower young people to improve their lives and the lives of others.
