City of Luling, TX (Official City Page)

City of Luling, TX (Official City Page) Truly a “Celebration of What Makes Texas Great” Davis' Rafael Rios No.1 opened an oilfield 12 miles long and 2 miles wide.
(1)

Luling was established in 1874 as the far western stop of the Sunset Branch of the Southern Pacific Railroad, but that all changed on August 9th, 1922 when Edgar B. The Rios No. 1was one of the most significant fields discovered in the Southwest and subsequently gave us our nickname, "Oil City". Luling is known world-wide for its mouth watering bar-b-que, agriculture, Zedler Mill, the annual Water

melon Thump, and now Texas’ First inland Paddling Trail! Luling Texas is located just off I-10, near US Hwy 183 - I-10 interchange. Luling is south of Austin and east of San Antonio with the neighboring municipalities of San Marcos, Seguin, Lockhart and Gonzales. Located within easy driving distance of San Antonio, Austin and Houston, come see what Luling Texas has to offer!

Additional Tree & Brush Drop-Off Option:

The City of Luling is providing residents with an additional option for disposing of trees and brush following the recent storm.

📅 Monday, August 31 – Friday, September 4
⏰ 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
📍 River Trail Park (Seguin Bridge)

Residents can bring their trees and brush to the designated drop-off area at River Trail Park. A City staff member will be on-site to help guide residents through the process and direct them where to unload.

Please note that residents will be responsible for unloading their own trees and brush. City staff will be available to assist with directing traffic and the drop-off process.

Brush pickup will continue throughout the community. Residents who are unable to bring their brush to River Trail Park can continue to place their brush near the street for City crews to pick up.

Trees and brush only, please. Do not bring household trash, garbage bags, or other non-yard waste to the drop-off site.

Storm Damage Reporting - TDEM Damage Survey:

Residents are highly encouraged to report any storm-related damage or losses through the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) Statewide Damage Survey.

Your report will help state and local emergency management officials identify, document, and better understand the damage caused by the recent storm. This information is important as officials assess the overall impact to our community and determine what resources and assistance may be available.

How to Report Damage:
Visit damage.tdem.texas.gov and select the “General Incident Damages or Losses” survey, which is located next to the Texas flag logo.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey if your property experienced storm-related damage or losses. Even if you are unsure whether your damage qualifies, reporting it helps officials build a more complete picture of the storm's impact.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Brush Cleanup Update:

Thank you to all of our residents for your patience and cooperation as we work through this restoration process.

The City will begin picking up brush throughout the community. To help our crews work as efficiently as possible, please place all brush as close to the street as you can while keeping it safely out of the roadway.

A few important reminders:

-Brush only, please. Do not include trash bags containing household garbage or other items.
-Cleanup will take place in phases based on the size of the branches and brush.
-Please be patient with our crews as they work through each area.
-Don't be alarmed if all of your brush is not picked up at once. Different types and sizes of brush may be collected during different phases of the cleanup.

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we work to get our community cleaned up. Thank you for helping our crews make the process as safe and efficient as possible.
