Luling was established in 1874 as the far western stop of the Sunset Branch of the Southern Pacific Railroad, but that all changed on August 9th, 1922 when Edgar B. The Rios No. 1was one of the most significant fields discovered in the Southwest and subsequently gave us our nickname, "Oil City". Luling is known world-wide for its mouth watering bar-b-que, agriculture, Zedler Mill, the annual Water

melon Thump, and now Texas’ First inland Paddling Trail! Luling Texas is located just off I-10, near US Hwy 183 - I-10 interchange. Luling is south of Austin and east of San Antonio with the neighboring municipalities of San Marcos, Seguin, Lockhart and Gonzales. Located within easy driving distance of San Antonio, Austin and Houston, come see what Luling Texas has to offer!

The Luling City Cemetery crew will begin their triannual clean up beginning July 15th.

If you have items for a loved one that you would like to keep or reuse, please remove and you may replace these items after the clean up.

If any items are left on the property or gravesites at this time, they will be removed beginning July 15th. After the clean up, items may be placed on sites again.

While City curbside brush pickup is suspended pending TCEQ approval of our plan, every utility customer in the City of Luling may contact the municipal representatives at Texas Disposal Systems (TDS, who provide us with our garbage and recycling services to arranged for bulk brush pickup curbside.

Every utility customer is entitled to a monthly, no extra service charge, bulky item and brush pickup at their curbside. All they have to do is send an email to [email protected] or call them at (844) 873-7734, to schedule the pickup.
