Lumberton NC Lions Club The Lumberton NC Lions Club was founded in 1945 to help the blind and visually handicapped in Lumberton, NC.

On May 15, 2025, 11 Lumberton Lions and guests attended a meeting/meal at Boys and Girls Homes of NC in Lake Waccamaw in the newly renovated Lions Cottage. As part of the LionsUSA service project event, the Lumberton (NC) Lions Club conducted SPOT vision screenings at 3 elementary schools in our community January 14-16. 297 students were screened with 52 being referred to an eye care specialist. Lions George Lawson (with Welch Allyn SPOT screening device) and Richard Pait are pictured at a Public School of Robeson County. Three Lions gave 25 hours of service time for this event.

Lumberton (NC) Lions Club President and Past District Govenor David Cox (L) is presented a Senior Master Membership Key and Pin from Lumberton Lions "Secretary for Life" Lion Jim Kirkland at the December 19th meeting in the Lumberton Lions Clubhouse.

The Senior Master Membership Key award signifies the Lion has recruited and retained 25 members for at least 12 months membership.

On Tuesday September 24th four members of the Lumberton (NC) Lions Club performed SPOT Vision Screenings at Southeastern Academy. Members (Rear -- Richard Pait, David Cox -- Front - Kendra Ann Robinson and George Lawson.) Of those screened, seven students were referred to an eye care professional.

During the school year of 2023-2024 in the Public Schools of Robeson County 10 members of the Lumberton (NC) Lions Club gave 230 hours of volunteer time to perform SPOT Vision Screenings at 20 elementary schools in the county. 2,551 students in kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 4th Grades were screened. Of these students screened, 344 were referred to an eye care specialist.

The Lumberton (NC) Lions Club SPOT vision Screenings were conducted at nine elementary Schools in Robeson County in January. 1,100 students were screened, with 150 students being referred to an eye care specialist. The following 7 Lions gave 96 hours of service to Lionism: Linda Britt, David Cox, George Lawson, Garrett Robinson, Richard Pait, Luther Sanderson and Amber Britt Ferrell.
