Robeson County lost a true champion for children and families all too soon. She touched so many lives supporting people along the road to recovery. Our community was blessed by her service and we will miss her terribly.
We are heartbroken to share the passing of our Program Administrator, Ms. Valerie Comrie. The impact she has had on our program spans decades and the number of participants she’s advocated for is countless.
As our first Family Treatment Court Coordinator, she dedicated her career to reuniting families and reminding parents they are worthy of the new life they had created.
When the Recovery Courts expanded, she began educating and training dozens of staff members to form our 3 separate courts today.
While some called her “co-worker” or maybe even “boss”, every single one of us called her “friend.”
Ms. Val, “thank you” doesn’t seem like enough. But we can definitely say that by knowing you, we have been changed for good. 💜
