The Search Continues for Timmy Jacobs

Investigators are continuing the search for missing person Timmy Jacobs of Parkton.

Jacobs was reported missing by family members on Sunday, August 2, 2026, after he was last seen on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Since the report was filed, Robeson County investigators have followed leads in both Hoke and Robeson counties, conducted numerous interviews, brought in multiple search, rescue and dive teams from across the region, utilized sonar technology, drones and helicopters during daytime and nighttime operations with night-vision equipment, collected surveillance footage, and undertaken additional technical and legal investigative processes.

Witness accounts place Jacobs and his vehicle together around 9:00pm Friday July 31, 2026 in the area of a cemetery just over a mile from a residence he approached on foot along Balfour Road in Hoke County at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Shortly after Jacobs approached the residence at approximately 3:00 a.m., Hoke County deputies were called to check on suspicious activity. When deputies arrived, they were unable to locate him.

Jacobs’ vehicle was later discovered still parked at the cemetery. His keys were located approximately 100 yards from the vehicle, and his cell phone was found nearby with a slight charge remaining.

Family members, friends, volunteers, area residents, law enforcement officers, rescue personnel and many others continue searching and seeking information that may help determine his whereabouts.

“The family and friends of Timmy Jacobs are waiting answers, and we remain committed to doing everything possible to help provide those answers,” stated Sheriff Burnis Wilkins. “This investigation involves countless hours of searching, interviews, technology analysis, investigative work and assistance from numerous agencies, volunteers and community members. We are asking everyone to take another look, think back and contact us if you saw or heard anything that could help. Please do not assume that someone else has already reported it. One small piece of information could be the piece investigators need to help us locate Timmy.”
