Our team answers more than 286,000 calls each year, many of them high-priority emergencies where seconds matter. Recent system upgrades—highlighted in a news article—are already making a difference by reducing call-handling time, improving accuracy, and getting critical information to first responders faster.

Special recognition to Crystal Batton and Jacob McMillan for their leadership and dedication in helping implement these improvements, including ASAP-to-PSAP and enhanced inter-agency coordination thru our CAD to CAD Project with the City of Lumberton. Their hard work is helping modernize our operations and better support our telecommunicators and responders.

Most importantly, thank you to every member of our 9-1-1 team. Your professionalism and commitment make a real difference every day. Proud of the outstanding work being done every day at Robeson County 9-1-1.

Robeson County E-911 is proud to announce that our center is now live with ASAP Service — a major upgrade in how alarm information is received and processed.

ASAP allows alarm-monitoring companies to send alarms directly into our CAD system, reducing manual calls, improving accuracy, and saving valuable minutes during emergencies. With more than 286,000 calls handled each year, this technology will make a real difference for our telecommunicators and first responders.

We’re grateful for the support of county leadership, our partners, and our dedicated staff who helped bring this improvement to Robeson County.

🎉 America’s 9-1-1 professionals are celebrating the U.S. Senate’s action to classify 9-1-1 professionals as public safety, not clerical, personnel.

The Senate on Wednesday approved the Enhancing First Response Act (S.725), a bill supported by NENA: The 9-1-1 Association, which would direct the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to reclassify Public Safety Telecommunicators as a “Protective Service Occupation” in the federal Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system.

Currently, 9-1-1 professionals are classified as “Office and Administrative Support,” a designation that fails to reflect the highly specialized, lifesaving work they perform daily alongside other first responders. This no-cost, bipartisan legislation would correct this outdated classification, ensuring that 9-1-1 professionals receive the respect and recognition they deserve.

“Every day, 9-1-1 professionals are the FIRST first responders in thousands of emergencies,” said NENA CEO John Provenzano. “Reclassifying Public Safety Telecommunicators as Protective Service Occupations is a long-overdue correction that recognizes their indispensable role in public safety.”
