Sukkot celebration and community gathering coming up next month! This time we are teaming up with Kol HaLev New Orleans to bring a whole weekend of events that will be fun for the whole family!
Sukkot is the Jewish harvest festival where we celebrate by building small huts, sukkahs, outside, and are meant to sleep under the stars for a week, welcoming guests, dreamers, our ancestors, our bountiful harvests, and celebrating all that has come to fruition in the past year.

We would love to have you join us as we kick off our fall season and celebrate all that we have accomplished this year and usher in all the beauty that is to come!
We start Friday at 3 building and decorating the sukkah, followed by a short service and potluck meal. Saturday will include family programming starting at 10:30; crafting, and more shared meals until we meet for a music jam in the evening. Sunday all are welcome to join in a hands on project helping to conserve the land with Burrow Nature Center

An $18-36 donation is requested and will cover primitive camping; if you want other accommodation check out our rentals website! No one turned away. You can rsvp via the link in bio!

Hi friends!! We are still on the lookout for the right person to join our rentals & events team. This position is similar to the one we opened up in January except we have added an on-site facilities manager so now we are just looking for someone who’s got the digital media, communications, and event coordination skills.
You don’t have to live on site for this position but exclusive access to one of our on-site lodging options is part of the compensation package. And of course we would love to have someone on site growing in community with us.
Burrow Nature Center is also hiring so if you have interest in both positions…or are part of a couple/family that could do both…let’s chat! We are so excited for all that could unfold in the months to come ☀️

We planted the tree that grew these peaches as a single twig stuck into the ground just a month or so after Boaz was born. That was almost five years ago!
This year the blossoms were so gorgeous I hoped for edible fruit,
And it came! We shared this bowl around the table a couple nights ago, Boaz offered the bowl of slices to each of us one at a time. Such luxury service!
These peaches were small and there were only five but they were so so yummy and each slice felt like the nostalgic memory of the past five years here on this land.
Feeling so much gratitude for the lessons of abundance that come in small packages; and for all the bumps and struggles along the way. 🍑🍑🍑

Apply the Burrow Nature Center’s new Resilience Fellowship! Get hands-on PAID training on 111 acres of conservation agro-forestry land south of Hattiesburg.

🔧 What You’ll Learn:
- Gopher tortoise recovery
- Controlled burn logistics & safe chainsaw operation
- Livestock management (goats!)
- Greenhouse construction with off-grid water and energy systems
- Small business skills for eco-entrepreneurs

Summer at the Burrow Nature Center! 🌲

We still have a few spots open for our upcoming Forest School Saturdays (May 16 & Jun 6, 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM). This is our signature guided program for kids to dive deep into nature-based play and exploration.

NEW: Summer Community Days! ☀️
This summer, we’re opening the land for a series of free/donation-based days. These are less about "lessons" and more about Community & Connection.

While we won’t have the full Forest School educational lineup, we’re inviting families to come explore the trails, wade in the pond, and get to know other nature-loving families in our area. It’s a chance for the kids to run wild while the parents build community.

We're so grateful to Country Roads Magazine for this feature that truly captures the spirit of this project we have been stewarding the past 7 years. We are deeply indebted to our family, for all of their support and love, to our friends and collaborators, for all the unique perspectives, contributions, and to all of you, supporters near and far that have kept our dreams alive over the years. We would be nowhere without all of you!

The All You Need institute is restoring a rare landscape while reimagining how we live with the land—and each other

All You Need is looking for someone to help us keep our rental units and spaces tidy and prepared for guests on a weekly basis. We are a campground and event rental facility that regularly hosts nature-based educational and healing retreats and events. We have 6 rental units and 4 primitive campsites as well as a shared kitchen and shower area. This role is flexible in terms of days and hours, but we ask that the individual selects one consistent day to help us bring our rental units and spaces back to a “rental ready” state as well as complete our laundry, inform us of any pressing maintenance or equipment needs, and do other housekeeping chores. In slower seasons, tasks may include making minor improvements to facilities such as painting, stocking/organizing materials and equipment, and other as-needed improvements. Additional hours may be available when/if we host events.

Skills/Qualifications:
- Reliable and Communicative
Attention to Detail
Enjoys Cleaning and Nature
Some basic handyman / DIY home repair skills or desire to learn

Hours/Compensation
6 hrs / wk; $15/hr - Weekdays or Sunday, flexible schedule
