๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ“š Welcome Back to School! ๐ŸšŒโœ๏ธ

The alarms will be set, backpacks will be packed, and school buses will officially be back on the roads. Whether youโ€™re excited to head back or already counting down the days until the next break, ready or not, itโ€™s time for another school year! Weโ€™re wishing all students, teachers, and staff a safe, successful, and great school year!

As everyone settles back into the school routine, we ask drivers to slow down, stay alert, and give yourself a little extra time during the morning and afternoon hours. Be especially watchful around school buses, and always stop when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.

To all students, we hope this school year is filled with new opportunities, great memories, and plenty of reasons to be proud. Always remember to be kind, work hard, and dream big. Youโ€™ve got this!
Have a safe and great school year! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ“š

With kids getting ready to head back to school, it may feel like summer is packing its bags and heading out. But here in North Carolina, we know the warm weather tends to stick around a little longer, which means thereโ€™s still plenty of time for pools, lakes, rivers, and other water activities.

As your family enjoys those last summer days and warm weekends ahead, donโ€™t let water safety take a back seat. Life jackets save lives.
๐Ÿ›Ÿ Make sure children and inexperienced swimmers wear a properly fitted, U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket when boating or spending time around open water.

๐Ÿ‘€ Keep a close eye on children anytime they are in or around the water.

๐ŸŠ Remember, even strong swimmers can find themselves in trouble when conditions change unexpectedly.

Back to school may be right around the corner, but warm days still mean water days. Keep the fun going, keep safety first, and always wear your life jacket.

We didnโ€™t realize it was Volunteer Firefighter Day until now, but that wasnโ€™t going to stop us from recognizing our amazing men and women who give so much of themselves to serve others.

At the end of the day, the strength and success of our department comes from the men and women who volunteer their time to serve. Our members sacrifice time away from their families, dedicate countless hours to training, and answer the call at all hours of the day and night, not because they have to, but because they have a heart for serving others. Equipment may change. Training may advance. The fire service itself may evolve. But one thing will always remain the same: our greatest strength is our people.

We are proud of the dedication, sacrifice, and commitment our members show each and every day. We couldnโ€™t let today pass without recognizing the people behind the trucks, the gear, and the patch, the men and women who continue to answer the call and make Deep Branch Fire/Rescue what it is today.

To our volunteers, thank you for all that you do. Happy Volunteer Firefighter Day! ๐Ÿš’โค๏ธ

After all the rain we received this past weekend, we know many of you are catching up on mowing your yards. As you're mowing this week, please remember to keep grass clippings off the road. While they may seem harmless, grass clippings can become extremely slick for motorcycles and mopeds, especially if they become wet. They can also hide rocks, sticks, and other debris, creating an additional hazard for anyone traveling on two wheels. Before putting the mower away, take a few extra minutes to blow or sweep any grass clippings back into your yard to help keep our roads safer for everyone.

Yesterday, as we participated in the Lumbee Homecoming Parade, we celebrated two historic milestones. This year not only marked our nation's 250 years of independence, but it also marked the first Lumbee Homecoming celebrated as the 575th federally recognized tribe.

Thank you to everyone who came out to line the streets, cheer on the parade, and celebrate alongside us. We were proud to be part of such a historic and memorable Homecoming, honoring our heritage, culture, and history.

Happy 4th of July! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, as we celebrate 250 years of American independence, we hope you have a fun, safe, and enjoyable holiday with family and friends. As you celebrate, please remember to leave the fireworks to the professionals. While they may be beautiful to watch, they can also be incredibly dangerous. And with temperatures on the rise, remember to stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy a safe Fourth of July!

God bless America! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
