The Fire Suppression Division is responsible for firefighting, the delivery of fire prevention and public fire education programs, rescue services, emergency medical response at the Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate level, hazardous materials response at the operations level, building/grounds and hydrant maintenance. There are 3 battalions with 16 personnel assigned to each battalion. Each battalion is comprised of a Battalion Chief, 3 Captains, 1 Lieutenant and 11 firefighters. Each Battalion Chief is responsible for the daily operation of their shift. Captains are responsible for the daily activities of each fire station, as assigned by the Battalion Chief.

Happy Father’s Day from the City of Lumberton Fire Department!

Today we celebrate all the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, and father figures who serve our department and community with dedication, strength, and compassion.

Whether you’re answering emergency calls, mentoring the next generation, or spending time with your family after a long shift, your commitment does not go unnoticed.

Thank you for the sacrifices you make both at home and in service to others.

We wish all of our firefighters, staff, and community members a safe and Happy Father’s Day!

What a great afternoon at the Touch-A-Truck event hosted by Chick-fil-A on Roberts Avenue! Multiple agencies came together and it was wonderful to see so many community members and travelers stop by to explore the vehicles, meet first responders, and enjoy the experience.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our community and showcase the equipment and people who serve it every day!

Our Logistics Chief has been out of the office the past couple of days ensuring our apparatus are fully equipped and mission ready. Chief Coleman has been working on installing and verifying backup cameras, scene lighting, wheel chocks, and making sure all systems are properly mounted and fully operational on several of our trucks.

These upgrades help improve safety, efficiency, and visibility on every call.

Today, Battalion 1 conducted fire extinguisher training at SpringHill Suites, providing staff with valuable hands on experience in fire safety and emergency response. Participants learned about different classes of fire, proper extinguisher selection, and the P.A.S.S. method (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) to safely and effectively operate a fire extinguisher.

Hands-on training helps build confidence and prepares employees to respond quickly and appropriately during an emergency.

Congratulations Eric!
