Support looks different for everyone — and sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to start. Lift Up VA is about helping people connect with resources, support, and hope when they need it most. Whether someone is navigating stress, substance use, mental health concerns, family challenges, or simply needs help finding the right next step, help is available. 🫂

No one should have to figure it out alone. If you or someone you know could use support, take the first step and reach out. A stronger community starts when we lift each other up. Together, we can Lift Up Virginia! 💚

Words. Matter.

Stigma can keep people from asking for help, talking about mental health, or seeking the support they need for substance abuse. When someone feels judged, they may stay silent — and silence can make struggles even harder.

We can all help reduce stigma by choosing supportive language, listening without judgment, and remembering that people are more than what they are going through.

Instead of shame, offer support. 🫂
Instead of labels, use compassion. 🩵
Instead of judgment, choose connection. 🔗

Recovery, healing, and hope are possible — and everyone deserves support. PACA is here to support you in any way we can!

We're excited to be preparing for our 5th annual 'Float Your Boat' cardboard boat regatta! This event is tons of fun, and we hope you'll bring all your friends out to participate this year. ⛵️

The regatta won't be until August 15th, but we'll be holding a boat building day (materials provided) at the Hawksbill Pool tomorrow, Saturday, June 20th from 9am-11am! Its the perfect opportunity to get a jump on building a winning design.

The conversations we have with young people matter — even when it seems like they aren't listening. 👂

SAMHSA’s “Talk. They Hear You.” campaign encourages parents, caregivers, educators, and community members to talk early and often with youth about alcohol and other substance use. The campaign focuses on helping adults get informed, be prepared, and take action to prevent underage drinking and other substance use.

You do not need the perfect words to start. You just need to start. Ask questions, listen, and stay calm. Keep the conversation going.

Small conversations can make a big difference!
