Announcement: The Supervisors decided this evening to give a 30 day extension of automatic sewage payment.

The Supervisors understand a lot of homeowners are waiting on contractors. At this point, not all contractors are not busy. The Supervisors encourage homeowners to start making calls to contractors to find one that isn’t busy.

Come the end of September there will be no more extensions given and payments will start. That will be under the direction of the USDA and the Supervisors will no longer have a say in the matter.

If your tap fee is not paid ($750) it needs to be paid now. Also, your $50 application fee has to be paid or your system will not be inspected and you will not be able to go online with the sewer. All contractors are aware that if the fee is not paid your system will not be inspected. Any questions please call the Township Building.

REMINDER: Please remind your contractors to bring you the do’s and don’t book for the pump. Also-baby wipes, flushable wipes and kitty litter are not permitted to be flushed down the toilet.

The pump and the materials pick up is to be worked out between the landowners and the contractors. Make sure you ask your contractor if they are going to charge you for picking these items up.

ALSO: Letters regarding hooking into the sewage system are going out today and tomorrow. The Township is in the process of contacting the certified contractors to let them know they can start working on connections as residents contact. The tap fees and application fees MUST be paid prior to your contractor starting. The letter you receive will also explain the costs of materials and where the materials can be purchased. Please call (814) 583-7660 for pricing on the pipe, coupling and tracer wire. These items are being sold to the Residents at a reduced price. If your contractor purchases the materials from the Township, they should NOT charge you, the resident, a higher rate than we sell it to them.

The use of the tracer wire is at the property owners discretion. If the line between your tap and tank is a short distance then you may not need to use tracer wire, but may want to use it for a long distance. If at any time you would need to locate your line, it would have to have tracer wire to do so.

ALSO: Electricians can start to pick up the boxes for the houses. When your electrician picks the box up from the Township, please let them know they MUST supply the residents name they are picking up for.

Clearfield County Solid Waste Authority is looking for people to sit on the solid waste board. These are VOLUNTEER positions. The Authority meets every other month at the County Administrative building located at 212 East Locust Street, Clearfield, PA at 7:00 pm. The meetings typically never go over an hour. If you are interested and have questions on being on the board please call 814-765-5149.

The project is nearing end and pump installation at homes could start as early as mid to late March. The Township has received their first order of pumps.

Homeowners to do list:
Hire a certified contractor from the above list
Pay $50 application fee - can be mailed to Brady Twp at 3906 Shamokin Trail Box 125 Luthersburg PA 15848 or stop by the Township Building between 10:00 am and 2:30 pm Monday through Friday. The contractor can NOT start before the application fee is paid.

The Township has purchased and will be selling the 1-1/2” pipe, fusion coupling, and tracer wire (if needed) so your contractor will not have to go elsewhere to get it. These items will also be offered at a better price than anywhere else, thus saving you, the homeowner, some money.

When speaking with your contractor be sure to remind them they can get the above items from the Township. You will also need to remind your contractor that the units will need to be inspected as they are installed. The Township will provide the contractors with a list of approved inspectors for their use. There will NOT be a fee for the inspector. Therefore ensure you should NOT receive a bill for the inspection and neither should your contractor.

FUNDING RUMORS: There have been rumors that the sewage project is out of money and cannot be finished. This is NOT true. The funds for the project are on schedule as they should be. The monies from making a loan and receiving grants were deposited into the account. As the bills from the contractor, engineering company, and law firm come in, they are paid from that account.

The sewage collection system is 99% completed. The funds for this part of the project are just about gone, as budgeted.

A large portion of the budgeted pipeline system monies is being retained until final cleanup and restoration work is completed. That work will NOT be completed until the weather clears in the Spring.

The filtration plant is behind schedule due to circumstances beyond the Township and Contractors control. As we are all aware, the weather this year has not been typical and it has put the electric and gas companies behind schedule.

At this time the gas company is working on getting natural gas to the filtration plant and the two lift stations still need the natural gas installed.

With November and December being hunting season, end of the year vacations, as well as the summer and fall weather issues, the electric company has also fallen further behind schedule. However, all applications have been completed and pre-construction monies have been paid and the Township still has hope the electric will be installed before the end of the year, but are aware it could be carried over into the New Year for completion.

Both gas and electric has to be installed before all equipment can be tested.

The sewage project WILL BE completed and the Township is still planning for homeowner hookups to start in the Spring.

Residents of Luthersburg and Salem area that are private property owners. If you signed and notarized an easement form, this information pertains to you.

When you see stakes with PINK ribbon that say Center Line Ditch, you can then put a stake to mark where you want your tap. You could wait until the construction crew starts work on those sections then mark your tap spot. However, keep in mind, when or as they come through and you are not home, they are going to put the tap where they think it should go and won't be able to change it.
