Donor highlight- Carol Dennison
Former student and friend of the Old Lutz School, Carol Dennison has been a gracious donor to our cause of maintaining and preserving our historical landmark. Without generous donations such as Carol's we would not be able to continue our missions of preserving this building for future generations to enjoy.

Here is a little about Carol~
The Old Lutz School is an enormous part of my hometown memories. Beginning in the fall of 1957, my experience at the school was warm, safe, and positive. I can still recite the names of all my grade-school instructors.
Times were different then. Girls wore only dresses; shorts and slacks were not allowed at school. There were other differences, too—Christmas trees decorated with construction-paper chains and, at least one year, a Christmas pageant. It seems that every Friday, the protein at lunch was fish. I loved it, especially when we were served crab cakes.
I left Florida after my parents divorced. I had always thrived in an academic environment, so after finishing high school in the Midwest, I chose a career in general dentistry. I am now married and retired, with two lovely daughters and four grandchildren.
Whenever I return to Florida, a trip is not complete without at least a drive by the Old Lutz School and a stop at the cemetery. The Bullard Park bandstand and the original train station that were part of my childhood memories have been lost to the passing of time.
I want to help preserve the old red-brick schoolhouse and allow it to continue to live on for future generations. It represents so much more than a building to me. It is an enormous part of the community—and of the childhood—I remember so fondly.
