CITY OF LUVERNE FORMAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Historic Time Capsule Opening

The City of Luverne is pleased to announce the opening of a historic
time capsule originally buried on the grounds of Douglas Park on July 4,
1976, by the City of Luverne and the Luverne Rotary Club.

This special community event will take place on July 4 at 2:00 p.m. at
Douglas Park, located at 253 S. Forest Ave., Luverne, Alabama 36049.

The opening of this time capsule marks a meaningful opportunity to
reflect on Luverne’s history, honor the citizens and community leaders
who preserved this moment 50 years ago, and celebrate the memories,
records, and reflections placed inside for future generations.

The City of Luverne invites citizens, families, former residents,
members of the Luverne Rotary Club, and visitors to attend this historic
occasion as we come together to celebrate our community’s past and
share in a moment of local pride on Independence Day.

We look forward to seeing the community at Douglas Park as we open this
piece of Luverne history.
