RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 7 PM CDT SATURDAY FOR
INTERIOR SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI, SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL
ALABAMA, AND THE WESTERN FLORIDA PANHANDLE...

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 11 AM to 7 PM CDT Saturday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 051, 052, 053, 054, 055,
056, 057, 058, 059, 060, 067, 075, 076, 078, 079, 201, 202,
203, 204, 205, 206, 261, 262, 263, 264, 265 and 266.

* WINDS...Northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

* At 448 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 miles southeast of Greenville to 12 miles
northeast of Georgiana to 3 miles northeast of McKenzie to 6 miles
east of Evergreen, moving east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Luverne, Brantley, McKenzie, Red Level, Rutledge, Dozier, Gantt,
and Glenwood.

* Tornado Warning for...
Northeastern Butler County in south central Alabama...
Northwestern Crenshaw County in south central Alabama...

* Until 330 AM CDT.

* At 315 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Lowndes County Airport, or 4 miles southwest of
Fort Deposit, moving northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
northeastern Butler and northwestern Crenshaw Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

- A line of strong to severe storms will move into the area late this evening and exit the area early Monday morning. Eastern portions of the area have been upgraded to an enhanced risk due to the potential of a few strong tornadoes.

- Windy conditions develop behind the front on Monday with Gale conditions expected offshore.

- A much colder airmass moves into the area for Monday and Tuesday with temperatures near of below freezing across portions of the area both Monday and Tuesday nights.
