Firefighters enjoyed spending their day at the Luxemburg-Casco High School for the Career Fair.

We discussed schooling requirements, volunteer versus career firefighters, showed some of the equipment we use, answered questions, and then had student volunteers get dressed in turnout gear.

We also discussed our Junior Firefighter Program, with some of the students showing an interest. About 20% of our existing members came through this program, which was started 3-years ago.

The future of the Fire Service lies with these students, and we want to give them an opportunity to see what being a firefighter is all about.

Thank You to the LC School District for having us!

A huge Thank You to the Kewaunee County Highway Department!!! They made a path allowing us to pick up EMT’s and other Firefighters to man our respective stations during the storm.

Snow & ice can block furnace vents, dryer vents, and fireplace vents, which can cause carbon monoxide to build up in your home. Take a couple of minutes to remove snow from these areas around your home.

❄️🚨❄️🚨❄️🚨❄️🚨

Carbon monoxide (CO) is an invisible, odorless, and colorless gas and is known as a silent killer. Make sure you have working CO alarms installed in your home. Suspect CO poisoning? Evacuate the area and call 9-1-1 right away.

Last Tuesday we had a great time giving fire safety talk to St. Marys School.

We talked about fire safety and the students had alot of good questions.

The students enjoyed going through the ladder truck and then we raised the ladder sprayed some water.

Thank you St. Marys School for letting us visit!!

And last but not least always remember in the event of a fire, Get out and Stay out and always have a safe family meeting place!!!
