(Luxemburg, WI) – On January 8, 2019, at approximately 4:53 A.M., Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department dispatch received a report of an armed robbery that had happened just minutes prior at Main Street Crossing, 107 Main St, Luxemburg. Sheriff’s Deputies and Luxemburg Police Department were notified and responded to the scene.

Upon investigation, the clerk reported that a white male with red hair and bushy beard was purchasing a Gatorade when he pulled a handgun from his pocket and demanded all the money in the register. The clerk complied and the suspect fled with a vehicle in an unknown direction. The clerk was unharmed and less than $500 was taken.

Video surveillance showed the suspect was wearing a black hat with a white design on the front, a red thigh length coat, a black shirt with a Chicago Bulls design across the front, and dark pants. He used a smaller frame handgun in his right hand to commit the crime. The vehicle he was driving was a silver SUV type vehicle and he left eastbound on STH 54 from Main Street. The license plate was illegible on the surveillance recording. It is unknown if any accomplices were in the vehicle.

During the time this robbery investigation was going on, information related to similar armed robberies within the Green Bay metropolitan area over the last 36 hours was being reviewed and communication with local law enforcement agencies was being conducted, Green Bay Police Department apprehended a suspect in three of their armed robberies. That person’s appearance and vehicle description fit the description of the armed robbery suspect in Luxemburg. Digital images of the Luxemburg suspect were shared and the suspect in police custody was matched to the suspect in the images.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Information will continue to be shared with Green Bay Police Department and any other agencies to resolve this or any other open investigations. No further crime scene details in relation to the robbery will be released. Additional suspect information will be updated at the appropriate time, depending on the outcome of police interviews.

This morning, a patron tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at a local fast food establishment. It was found to be counterfeit by using a counterfeit detection pen. It also did not have all the components a bill should have. All business should have pens available to check any bills they suspect as fake, especially those of $20 denomination or higher. The following link to "Know Your Money" from the US Secret Service will give you more information on spotting counterfeits. ~ Chief Gulbrand

Also, vehicles left on the streets during a snow emergency or during snow plowing operations will be ticketed, towed and stored at the owners expense. ~ Chief Gulbrand
