TOUR DE LYME 2026
Grassy Hill, 31-MAY-26

Lyme Fire and Lyme Ambulance Association (Lyme EMS) supporting the annual Tour de Lyme fundraiser for the Lyme Land Trust. Beautiful day for the cycling event and a festive occasion afterwards with music and food for the riders, volunteers and supporters.

Congratulations on a successful event and we are glad to be here just in case... but have enjoyed relaxing and being staged with our Rescue, Utility and UTV, and escorting the popular family ride, keeping them safe.

A special thanks to Jim and Caroline Stathakis
for letting us stage in their driveway. Very kind of you.

TRAINING TONIGHT: LADDERS

Tonight focused on throwing ladders, a basic but important skill. Ladders not only provide access to upper stories and roofs, but are a vital firefighter alternate source of emergency egress if original paths of access are blocked or consumed by fire.

Tonight we also witnessed the evolution of knowledge, junior officers teaching newer members in these lifesaving and practical skills. Rewarding to witness the next generation ascending, literally.

We mourn the loss of firefighter Robert Kilduff Jr., a 24-year veteran of the Boston Fire Department.

INCENTIVE TRAINING - PUMPING, FORCIBLE ENTRY & HOSELINE ADVANCEMENT
Hamburg Station 19-MAY-26 @ 19:00

Tonight we performed multiple rotations of apparatus setup and flowing water, forcible entry with our door training prop, and hose advancement through the door and to a simulated fire. A "triathlon" of skills and everyone got hands-on training tonight. The rainbow topped it off.

CONNECTICUT RIVER RECOVERY

Thanks to Connecticut State Police-Troop F Westbrook, Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP), Chester Hose Company Inc. , Lyme Ambulance Association (Lyme EMS) and Chester-Hadlyme Ferry for the support today on the Connecticut River incident. Good multi-agency integration and collaboration.

LYME MOUNT ARCHER TRAIL RACE STANDBY WITH LYME EMS

Today we supported the second annual Lyme Mount Archer Trail Race by staging Lyme Fire and Rescue resources with Lyme Ambulance Association (Lyme EMS). Our teams work closely together not only supporting events like this but by responding together to ALS medical calls under the successful R1 program.

Good camaraderie, practice, and no major injuries. A good day. Thanks to the event host for their support and past donations to the Lyme Fire Company and Lyme EMS.

LYME FIRE WITH CTDEEP IN NEHANTIC TODAY

Lyme firefighters were invited again to join State crews from DEEP during their controlled burn today in Nehantic State Park. We appreciate the opportunity to work together and hone our wildland firefighting skills. Thanks to the DEEP team.
