Your not so average squad meet up, in the Atlantic Ocean.

Pilots assigned to Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 542, prepare to exit AV-8B Harriers on the flight deck of the USS Kearsarge. These pilots are taking part in a final pre-deployment exercise that certifies the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit’s ability to conduct military operations through joint planning, and execute challenging and realistic scenarios. The VMA 542 provides offensive air support, armed reconnaissance, and air-defense for Marine Expeditionary Units.

The confidence chamber trains recruits on how to properly use the M40 gas mask and respond to potential chemical and biological threats.

Farmville and surrounding areas, meet the new Marine recruiter, Sergeant Hendrix!

Sgt Hendrix is originally from New Bern, North Carolina. He started his career in Okinawa, Japan, where he served as served as cook and maintenance NCO.
After leaving Japan, he was stationed at Camp Lejeune where he served as Maintenance NCO, Assistant Battalian Mess Chief, and Training NCO. During that time he was deployed back to Okinawa, Japan for 6 months on a deployment where he was able to go to South Korea.

“The Marine Corps has given me the ability to be a better husband, father, and man. It has given me the financial stability to support my family while still being able to enjoy life comfortably. So in simple terms the Marine Corps has given me the OPPORTUNITY to be successful and have everything.”

Lynchburg, meet our new Marine recruiter, Sgt Zachery Zubovich!

Sgt Zubovich is originally from Columbus, Ohio. He started his career in Security Forces at Marine Barracks Washington (8th & I), where he served as a guard squad leader and ended up at Camp David (the Presidential Retreat) in northern Maryland.

Afterwards, he served as an Infantry Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant in V2/8 at Camp Lejeune, NC. During that time he deployed twice and saw countries such as Abu Dhabi, Oman, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Japan — to include Fuji, and Tokyo.

“I have served for over seven years and have learned various intangible qualities such as skills and experience, leadership, and able to be proud of who and what I represent. I owe all my success to the Marine Corps and the opportunities it has provided me with such as my family, financial stability, a career path, and the various toys like cars and other things I enjoy as hobbies.”

Sgt Zubovich is the recruiter for Heritage, E.C. Glass, Staunton River, and Altavista High School.
