At Visiting Angels, care means more than showing up for a shift. It means making sure our clients feel supported and never forgotten.

Yesterday, Mr. Johnston had to rearrange his schedule. Since his caregiver usually prepares his supper, our office manager, Samantha, took time out of her evening to personally deliver his dinner!

Care doesn’t stop when the schedule changes. We’re grateful to serve our veterans and to have team members who go above and beyond.

Our story began with a family in need that was helped by someone willing to help a family they had just met. Our legacy is returning that help to families we meet along the way. As we approach our ten-year anniversary of serving Lynchburg and beyond, we are reminded that the greatest impact isn’t measured by years, but by the relationships built, lives touched, and families supported along the way.

This journey has always been about more than home care — it has been about compassion, connection, and carrying forward the values that built Visiting Angels Lynchburg into what it is today.

As we reflect on our story, this weekend also holds special meaning as we remember and celebrate Derek on what would have been his 79th birthday, May 24. His vision, kindness, and dedication to serving others continue to guide us every day, and his legacy lives on in every family we have the privilege of serving.
