LRHA is a government agency that strives to change the lives of current and potential citizens of Lynchburg, Va. We focus on ending homelessness and providing homes to those who otherwise would not be able to afford housing for themselves or their families. Our Agency is committed to improving the city of Lynchburg one house at a time and ultimately changing the way people see Lynchburg. We are a

🎒 The countdown is on! This week is the LRHA Backpack and School Supply Giveaway, and we can't wait to welcome our families as they prepare for the new school year. Let us help take one thing off your list! 📚💛

Join us on Thursday, August 13, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Birchwood Community Basketball Court to pick up backpacks and school supplies before the new school year begins.

All LRHA public housing tenants are invited to attend.

Will rent be higher in the new Blackwater Hills community?

It’s one of the questions we’ve heard most often, and the answer is important.

For eligible returning residents, rent will continue to be based on household income and the applicable housing program guidelines, not market-rate pricing.

Blackwater Hills is being developed to provide modern, updated homes while preserving affordable housing for the residents who call Dearington Hills home today.

Looking for a fun way to beat the summer heat?

The Riverside Park Sprayground is open daily and offers a free way for families to cool off and enjoy the outdoors. With interactive water features, spraying lake fish, pop jets, tulip sprays, and dumping buckets, there's plenty of fun for children of all ages.
