The Central Virginia Workforce Development Board (Virginia Career Works Central Region) was pleased to support Bedford County, Virginia with funding to support the leadership development of its workforce. A cohort of more than a dozen county employees recently completed a customized training called L.E.A.D. Forward, designed to help emerging leaders learn how to guide teams and accomplish a shared mission. The long-term goal of this initiative is to improve employee engagement and retention, and improve results related to the County’s long-term strategic goals. Today, Deputy Director Tim Saunders presented Bedford County Administrator Robert Hiss with a check in the amount of $7,272.67 from the workforce board's "Existing Worker Training" program, to offset the county's investment in training its workers. We salute Bedford County's investment in upskilling and equipping its staff with dynamic leadership skills to better serve its citizens.
