Pour yourself a cup of ambition!!

The cast list of 9 to 5 JR went live this morning, and this afternoon our fabulous students came together for their very first read-through. We are especially excited to share that this will be the first time 9 to 5 JR. has been performed in our area!

It is based on the smash-hit movie and features music and lyrics by the Queen of Country herself. 9 to 5 JR. is more than just a musical. It is a celebration of the life and legacy of a remarkable woman whose story, music, and spirit continue to inspire generations. Through humor, courage, determination, and a whole lot of heart, this show reminds us to stand up for what is right, believe in ourselves, and never underestimate what can happen when people come together.

Come out this Fall to pay tribute to the legend that is Dolly Parton. From her unforgettable songwriting to her lifelong mission of spreading love, Dolly’s legacy is woven into every single note of this production.

All students interested in auditioning must attend the Audition Workshop on Tuesday August 18. The musical 9 to 5 Jr. will be the show that we will take to the Junior Theater Festival (JTF) in Atlanta, GA during January 14 - 18, 2027.

Due to all of the working parts of taking the production to JTF we will have a MANDATORY parent meeting AFTER the Audition Workshop on Tuesday August 18. It will begin at 5:30 and we will explain more about this production, what exactly JTF is and what it entails, and also the travel costs involved.

All other productions will be performed at Dunbar Middle School only.

All students interested in auditioning must attend the Audition Workshop on Tuesday August 18 from 2:30-5:30pm.
- In this workshop an audition song will be taught; students will learn choreography for the audition; and will be given a monologue to work on for the audition.
- This is an important opportunity for students to become prepared for the audition, so that they are confident and will audition to the best of their ability.
- Students will choose either Wednesday or Thursday to stay after school to audition. They will sign up for a time slot on either day. Students must stay after school until their audition time slot has been completed and they are released.

**An activity bus will be available to students who need transportation home after the audition is over at 5:30 p.m.

November 13 at 7:00 p.m., November 14 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and November 15 at 3:00 p.m.

March 5 at 7:00 p.m., March 6 at 7:00 p.m., and March 7 at 3:00 p.m.

Spring Production

Dunbar Theatre Connection would love to give a giant shout out to all our supporters this past school year and thank you again for giving our students a fabulous audience for the 25 - 26 school year.

We cannot wait to see you in the Fall with shows you are going to love!

Today was extra special as we said goodbye to our eighth graders with ‘Cookies & Hugs’. They entertained us for 2 hours by singing and dancing their way through all the musicals during their three years at Dunbar.

After strike, families are invited to join us for an optional dinner at Golden Corral on Wards Road.

Please mention Dunbar Theatre when paying so a portion of sales can support DTC.

The restaurant manager shared that they will have the side room near the dessert area saved for us, but they cannot guarantee reserved space beyond that due to graduation season.

Thank you all again for an incredible show weekend. We are so proud of these students and grateful for this amazing community!
