Lyn-Dan Heights VFD, with the partnership with Concord Fire and Safety, held a Brunswick stew fundraiser with all proceeds going to Chief Jerry Womack. We happily presented Jerry and Lisa Womack with a check in the amount of $6,500.00. Thank you to all that came out and purchased stew and made this fundraiser a success.

🔥Company 15, 16, and CCPS were dispatched to Anstey Rd for a reported Structure Fire. CCPS Medic 84 and CCPS Engine 810 attached due to being in close proximity. Units arrived to find heavy fire showing from the A-side. One attack line was placed in service and units began fire attack. Multiple pets were found and removed from the residence. The fire was quickly knocked down and units worked to ensure a thorough overhaul of all hotspots was performed. Great work by all units on scene!

🔥At 17:58, while covering calls for Company 10 and Company 17, Company 15 and Hurt Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in Company 17s first due. Engine 15 arrived with Chief 31 to find a sedan fully involved. Engine 15 initiated fire attack and quickly knocked the fire. Engine 31 assisted with overhaul. Units cleared shortly after 18:30. Both companies(who rarely work together) worked seamlessly and ensured a smooth operation. Great work by all!

🔥At 23:22, Company 12(First Due), Company 15(Second Due), and CCPS were dispatched for a Residential Structure Fire on Sunburst Rd. Medic 82 noted a column and fire showing on arrival, prompting the Working Fire dispatch. Chief 12 arrived and assumed command. Engine 12 initiated fire attack and search, while Engine 15 established water supply and assisted with interior operations. Both Engine 15-1 and Ladder 12 provided manpower. Great work by all units on scene!

This will be the last stew until the fall. We sold out in under a hour last time. We want to make sure everyone is able to get some this time. 🔥 At 10:36, Company 12(First Due), Company 15(Second Due), and CCPS were dispatched to Sherbrooke Dr for a Residential Structure Fire. Engine 15 and 12 marked en route. CCPS Medic 8-2 arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing, declaring a Working Fire. Engine 15 was tasked with water supply and laid 600ft of supply line while Engine 12 continued to the scene and began deploying attack lines. Forest Engine 51 arrived as well and initiated search. Once water supply was established, Engine 15 put a second attack line in service and assisted in fire attack. Engine 15-1 arrived and supplied Forest Tower 5 with water for aerial operations. Air 15 arrived and began refilling air bottles. Crews performed extensive overhaul and cleared around 2:00pm. Great work by all departments on scene.

🔥 At 16:42, Companies 16, 17, and CCPS were dispatched to Central Dr for a reported residential house fire. Due to Company 17 units being committed to the Altavista fire, Company 15 was added to the response. Engine 15 promptly responded. A member from company 16 as well as Chief 15 arrived to find smoke showing from the division 2 bedroom. The working fire was declared. Engine 15 arrived and deployed an attack line. CCPS Medic 82 and Engine 15 initiated fire attack. Fire contained to room of origin. Units overhauled and cleared approximately 2 hours later. Great work by all on scene. Thank you to Brookville-Timberlake Volunteer Fire Department for standing by.

Refer to Virginia Department of Transportation, Weather Services, and local government departments for more information.
