Mrs. Barnettās 5th graders took on the āImpossible Paper Challengeā! š
The challenge was to figure out how to fit your entire body through a single sheet of paper. The catch? They could only cut the paper. No tape, no glue, no staples, and no tying.
We used this challenge to practice the engineering design process. The kids had to ask, imagine, plan, create, test, reflect, and improve. There were lots of attempts that didnāt work, but they kept going.
At first, no one believed we could actually do it. But eventually, we figured out how to fit our bodies through a single Post-it note! š¤Æ
The kids were SO engaged throughout this challenge. They were constantly trying new ideas, helping each other, and getting excited when they finally found something that worked.
It was so much fun watching them problem-solve and realize that something that seemed impossible at first might not be impossible after all! ā¤ļø
