I was promoted to Chief Deputy Treasurer today thanks to the actions of the new treasurer, Mr. Brian Triplett. Within his first 30 days, he identified that my job responsibilities did not accurately match my job title and was able to get the approval for an immediate promotion. Today I was sworn in by The Honorable K. Todd Swisher, Circuit Court Clerk, as Deputy Treasurer for the City of Lynchburg for the term commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2029. I’m excited to serve the great citizens of Lynchburg for another 4 years.

It’s ironic that in just 7 days I went from losing an election to being appointed interim Lynchburg treasurer for the next 6 weeks. My boss’s last day was yesterday and now I have the key to the office 😀. I’m thankful for the opportunity but, unfortunately, there’s no rest for the weary. It’s time to get to work!
